Eclipse Armor. The difference between this and the sunlight armor is the presence of a mask that protects against the magic of the Decimaar blade.

Was missing Trollhunter!Strickler so thought I'd do a drawing of him in human form and the Eclipse armour, because I don't think I've seen much art with that particular combination.

And I managed to post this on my birthday!! I'm officially one year older! Yay!

The Eclipse Armour— A Theory

While the Daylight Armour seems to be channeled by valor and bravery, I’ve always thought that the Eclipse Armour was channeled by anger. That’s why, in the Darklands, Jim’s Armour kept sputtering and failing him. Though he had just got stuck in the Darklands, he was too good hearted, too kind, to truly channel it completely.

The one time we see Jim’s Eclipse Armour go full out, it is before he defeats Gunnar in a burst of anger and screams “I burn brightest!”.

And after the Eternal Night, Jim can’t seem to take off the armour. Because there’s a part of him deep down that will always be mad about what Merlin did to him. About having his life taken away from him. And his physical form is a constant reminder of that.
