When you walk into a car dealer as a potential buyer, many questions must ring off in you head. Some of them may sound something like: how fast is the car I am getting, how much horse power, what is the fuel economy like, and lastly how much does it cost? If you are between the age of 27 and about 42 you are probably looking for a vehicle that looks to kick the s**t out of just about anything on the road. Likely that you would be at one of the few dealers that could provide you with a vehicle that can do just that. Since we don’t do crotch rockets and Becks mobiles over here, a local GM or Ford dealer may be your likely location. But we aren’t talking Camaros or CTS’s, we’re talking about the king of Kings. The 2015 Ford Mustang to be exact and it is a beautiful site to see.
The Specs and expected numbers of a monster muscle car
For starters, if you are into tap dancing and frequent visits the opera, there is the lesser of three models the V6 Mustang. A base model vehicle with…well…base model specs. Okay they are really not so standard. HID headlights, 17-inch aluminum wheels, a six-speed manual, a limited-slip rear differential, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel all included for the $24,425 base price. Recaro seats or the Performance package will not be an option for the V-6 models. However, the 3.55:1 rear end from the Performance pack will be featured as an option for this model.
Now if you are looking for a little more kick ass for your buck, then the 2.3L Eco-Boost that features a turbocharger and air-to-air intercooler may be what you are looking for. Lets just call a spade, a spade with this one people. You will likely hand just about any V-4 spec car there tighty whiteys with an exhaust growl that could rival a three day starved and caged Lion. For about two seconds I honestly though this was the V-8 model from the exhaust note alone. At a price tag of $29.000 to $30,000 pumping out 305HP you have already done better than a 2000 GT Mustang putting out only 260HP and this is a V-4???!!!
If you would care to finally put the women and children to bed, that you may go out to play with the big boys, then you will want the 5.0L GT Ti-VCT V8 engine version. This model will come in an automatic/Paddle shift transmission which is new to the Mustang or the ever popular 6 speed (I’ll have that one) manual transmission and will push out 420 horses with 390 foot pounds of torque. All of this at a price tag of about $32,925 maxing out at $42,425. These prices make the 2015 mustang a very realistic choice when compared to some of the Ford rivals with similar specs. Now pump all of this into a Fastback style body with sleek lines a wide stance, staggered sized wheels, and pretty much all or at least most of the amenities of an Audi minus the price tag and you have got yourself possibly Ford’s best selling Mustang to date. You can expect more numbers like track times and dyno figures to come out before the October release along with a the Special 50th-Year Edition and an all new Shelby GT-500 version.
