Kitchen Things with Pyretic…
Been stressed and today was no exception.
So, at almost 11:00pm, I had an urge to make my first mug cake.
Not too bad. I think a little tweaking is in order, but overall a thumbs up.

The Coke Incident
Based on a true story
—A bit inaccurate because we spoke more English than Tagalog in this iteration
—Feel free to correct the bits I got wrong lmao
Earlier today, my friends @roarieepoots, @cherisheddangel, and I made, or at least tried to, make mug cookies because I recently got a microwave. Of course we prepared the ingredients and started to make it (with a few changes because the original recipe is too sweet and we also didn't have any chocolate on hand). Though, the dough looked too dry for their mother's liking. So, she suggested we add milk to it and we did. We ended up adding too much milk which made our mug cookies turn into mug cakes. Mug cakes that tasted more milk than the cookies they were supposed to be. Well, it can't get any worse, right?
As I was eating my mug cake and also mashing it into crumbs, I let my gaze shift towards a bottle of coke zero.
"If you give me ten pesos, I'll pour coke in my mug cake," I jokingly say, half-expecting them to take it seriously but still believing that they won't. I don't know why I thought that. Of course they'd take it seriously. "Do it." Angel— or whatever it is she goes by on tumblr— says. "Pour coke in your mug cake!" Giggles their little sister. "I'm not going to until I get my ten pesos," I state. Then, my stomach drops as Rory gets up from her seat and walks toward her bag to fetch a ten peso coin for me. I hear Angel start laughing and I would've laughed with her (or maybe i did idk it's all a blur) if it weren't for my mind going, holy crap I actually have to do this. They're going to pay me to do this.
I hear the clinking sound of two coins being placed next to me on the table. I look to my left and see the ten pesos I requested and a five pesos given to me out of the good of Rory's heart. *"Naaawa ako sayo, so fifteen nalang bibigyan ko sayo," she says before returning to her seat. I take the bottle of coke and twist the cap off, fumbling a little. Then, I poured the fizzy drink into my mug of cake before taking a bite. It tasted... not as bad as I thought it would. It was a pleasant surprise! I didn't expect this monstrosity to even taste decent. I expected a sweetness that could make my heart beat too fast or rot my teeth on the spot but it wasn't that bad! I'd say it was nice even. It was definitely better tasting than it did before. "Wait, this is actually pretty good."
"Really? Let me try," Angel says before pouring coke into her mug and taking a bite. "Oh, you're right!" Though, the more we ate, the weirder it tasted and the more unusual it's texture became. At one point, my mug cake's crumbs started to float to the top of the brown liquid and I sight reminded me of something I shat or threw up once. I couldn't help but be disgusted at the sight even though I wouldn't have been eating/drinking this stuff if I haven't even suggested it. Then, I think screw it, I'm gonna drink this once and for all. So, I took one big sip to take all the coke and cake crumbs out of my sight and into my stomach. This made my friends laugh and it made me laugh too but damn did I want nothing more than to spit this vile liquid out of my mouth. Eventually, I swallow it. It's just cake and coke despite how icky it looked.
When that was done, I started to bitch and moan about what I ate *(na para bang hindi ko kasalanan) while also trying to make light of the situation. Making jokes about what I did and saying things like "I am going to laugh about this later". Then, I notice Angel barely taking bites out of her mugcake-coke drink. Clearly, she didn't want to eat it anymore which is understandable because her drink somehow looked in worse shape than mine. Though, she did try to salvage it, try to make it more appetizing so she'll actually consume it. How? By pouring more coke of course! Did not help, by the way. Only made it look worse. "My mouth is watering just looking at it," she says, covering up her disgust with a smile. Rory and I laugh at her words. "If you give me more money, I'll drink it!" I suggest out of humor and pity for my friend. She perks up and turns to her sister. "Give her more money. I'll pay you when we get home," she says with an eager smile. Though, Rory, sweet sweet Rory, felt bad for me and refused.
And so, Angel just kept on adding coke. And the more she added, the worse it looked. She ended up throwing it away.
Now, the lesson here, dearest reader, is that adding coke may sound like a bad idea and it is, but it is a fun idea. So, add more coke!
*I feel bad for you, so I'll give you fifteen (pesos) instead.
*(as if it wasn't my fault)
(A/n: I have been corrected by @roarieepoots. One is supposed to add more coke)
