Going back in time today to a photograph I shot around Picher, Oklahoma, many years ago. It's always reminded me of Artax in the Swamp of Sadness from The Neverending Story. Picher, OK, is a ghost town and Superfund site due to mining lead and zinc which left excessive lead in the water and poisoned many children and ruined people's lives.
