once upon a time, i bought a short sleeved double breasted reiss cardigan from gilt groupe.* it did not suit me. i’m too curvy and petite to wear something so boxy and really, who wears a short sleeved cardigan? but it was gorgeous, with interesting stitches and detailing, so i kept it.

i finally decided to give it up last summer and put it one poshmark. but after 6 months and no offers, i decided that the yarn would be more valuable than what i would get even if it sold. it’s a lovely heather 70% cotton 30% wool that is great for texture. so now i’m unraveling it.

trepidation soon turned to giddyness. the demolition phase is super fun, like the segments of hgtv shows in which you get to don a hardhat and swing a sledgehammer. a great way to spend a sunday morning.

*i checked if they were still around and the answer is yes, but not doing well. it makes sense; i had to quit because it’s not a great idea to be making those kinds of purchasing decisions at 9am on the west coast.
