Today was a great and humbling day. This isn't my usual stylised post, but something that I feel is important to share and incredibly important for people to get involved in. Today I went on a solo mission and cooked 31 hot meals for @helpinghandsportsmouth They're a local charity and cook regular meals for the homeless. They then go out and about around Southsea, Portsmouth and Cosham delivering hot, wholesome meals them. The people who run this are some of the most beautiful, kind and caring people I have had the pleasure to meet, and I'm so glad I was able to do something to help and hopefully make someone's Sunday evening. Letting the meals go was actually quite emotional as so many people don't have the home comforts that we do, and perhaps sometimes take for granted. Picked up some fresh produce at Commercial Road market in Portsmouth today. Took my own bags, so no plastic was used. Tastes better than what's in the big supermarkets and also costs less. I got loads of fruit and veg for under £6. Look at these delicious carrots and spinach. I've always been fascinated with street art and actually wrote my dissertation about graffiti for my undergrad (14 years ago?!). So great to volunteer at The Sustainability Centre yesterday. Me and @pandalens were in the children's tent showing them how to carve massive chunks of naturally sourced chalk from the site. Very messy and great fun! I've worked with kids before and taught them to make biodegradable plastics and paper with wild flower seeds in so thos was right up my street.
