Send me 💘 for my muse’s reaction to realizing they’ve fallen in love with your muse.
On my ownPretending he’s beside meAll Alone, I walk with him ‘till morning
Dez took a pause in her singing to swig off of her water bottle and rub Lily’s head with a little smile, drying off the last plate from her shared breakfast with Lucas. Les Misrables had been playing in the background for sound when Dezerae finished her chores downstairs, and when she flicked the Tv off to tend to Thorin and Bilbo, she continued to sing.
Without him, I feel his arms around me.And when I loose my way I close my eyes and he has found me.In the rainThe pavement shines like silverAll the lights are misty in the river.
As Dezerae brushed her stiff-bristled brush over Thorins tall and long back, her mind was full of Lucas. The way he looked in his sleep, peaceful with an arm around her waist and a hand in her curls. The way he sounded when he laughed, a rich, hearty noise that made Dezeraes eyes flutter closed at the mere thought of it. His scent had become a fast source of comfort for her when they lived apart, and the feel of his chuckle as she buried her nose in his neck to inhale it gave her shivers. That voice, so deep, made Dezeraes knees to turn jelly, especially when he whispered right by her ear.
Thorin whacked Dez with his tail and she laughed, having stopped to day dream, before sending him out to the pasture with his smaller Pinto friend.
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlightAnd all I see is him and me forever and foreverThough I know, It’s only in my mindThat I’m talking to myself, and not to him.And although I know that he is blindStill I say there’s a way for us...
Dez opened and closed the gate that cut off the downstairs from her bedroom in the loft, climbing the stairs as she sung, “I love him. But when the night is over, and he is gone, the river is just a river.” Dez had to swallow a sudden lump in her throat at the line, her mind shutting down for a moment and her eyes filling with tears. “What the hell?” Dez whispered and shook her head, grabbing scattered clothes and blankets. “Without him, the world around me changes. The trees are bare and everywhere the streets are full of strangers. I love him, and everyday I’m learning all my life, I’ve only been pretending. Without me, his world will go on turning. A world that’s full of happiness that I have never known.”
Why any girl would want to fall in love was beyond Dez. The song she sung was full of an aching emotion, a painful yearning and the fact that all love ends somehow. Again, Dezerae sung “I love him,” And actually let a tear escape, yet again. “Dammit, Stop!” She hissed at herself, and wiped her eyes, suddenly missing Lucas beyond her own understanding. She wanted Lucas to see her crying and take her in his arms, to laugh lightly at her for tearing up over a line then kiss her head and nuzzle into her hair. That was when the connections made their own way from the line to Lucas, and Dezerae nearly stopped breathing.
“No.” She said, clapping a hand over her mouth and gripping onto the railing of the loft. But her mind screamed “YES!YESYESYESYES!” Dez bit her lips and paced barefoot in front of her bed, hands in her hair. “Oh, My God, No. Nope. Nuh-uh. I don’t --” Her tongue stuck behind her teeth, the ‘L’ wanting badly to become vocalized. “ -- L-Love him. I- I-” Dezerae nearly screamed when she heard the door open and close before looking at the time. She had been pacing for Three Hours?!
“Dezerae, darling. Are you home?”
“Ah - Yeah! I’m in the bedroom!” Her heart tumbled when she heard his chuckle, and her skin tingled pleasantly with goosebumps when he called up, “Is that an invitation?”
I don’t. I can’t. If I do - If I do, I’ll loose him...
“Since when do you need an invitation?”
