Leigh Halfpenny turned in a man-of-the-match performance for Wales as they came from behind to rack up 30 unanswered second-half points in a 33-7 RBS 6 Nations victory over Italy at the Stadio Olimpico.

Wales began as the dominant side but thanks to the irrepressible Sergio Parisse and a powerful Italian front row, scrum-half Edoardo Gori was driven over after 30 minutes to put Italy 7-0 ahead.

Halfpenny pegged Italy back with a 36th-minute penalty, but it was in the second period that the full-back accelerated Wales ahead. The British & Irish Lion took them into a 12-7 lead with three penalties within 16 minutes of the turn, giving Rob Howley's side a points buffer that freed them up in attack. Jonathan Davies capitalised in the 62nd-minute before Liam Williams crossed moments later, with George North contributing a spectacular late effort from turnover ball to down Conor O'Shea's side.
