Incorrect Quotes of my characters (im planning out my book. Not making too much progress, but some is still better than none id say.)

If I could go back in time it would probably be to wrap John Paul Jones in a blanket and then stick him in my pocket like Abigail Adams suggested so that he could sleep for more than 0-3 hours and so that I could protect him from all of the people who back-stabbed him, used him, pretended to be his friend, betrayed his trust, abandoned him, disrespected him, undermined his authority, ignored him, and/or mutinied, driving him to such paranoia and distrust of everyone around him that he hardly got any sleep for fear that his crew would slit his throat while he slept. Ironically, the only man that Jones unwaveringly trusted was actually a spy for the British. He was Franklin’s secretary, Edward Bancroft. Bancroft had been feeding the British all of Jones’ plans and schemes as he related them to him from the beginning. In a way, Jones had something to thank all of the grief he was caused by the incompetence, disobedience, and mutinying of his crews, as well as the disrespect, back-stabbing, and delaying of Congress and the French Court, because it saved him from a number of traps that had been laid out for him by the British and from ever learning of Bancroft's treachery.
