Happy 7th birthday to my beautiful twin girls, Rosa Bud (left) and Edwin (right)! They're from the same litter, and their mother abandoned them as infants. I bottlefed them and otherwise managed to keep them alive, and they've traveled with me from Louisiana to Illinois. I bought my cats drugs. 😎 So at the Otaku Flea Market at Colossal, I bought a catnip kick toy from @rainbowkitty_designs, and my girls LOVED it. The fabric is so beautiful, and the 'nip inside is A+. Rosa immediately went to town on it. She was even aggressively sniffing my suitcase for it shortly after I arrived home, and Edwin later swiped the bag for herself and destroyed it. Rosa has actually resumed playing with the toy as I write this (after a couple hours have elapsed), so I think it's a new favorite! Rainbow Kitty Designs does have an Etsy shop, so you can order your own catnip kicker for your little felines. They're great quality and only $5! Plus, they come in a lot of fun, geeky fabrics. Looks like I'm doing the thing where I'm busy and overwhelmed so I just don't post at all 🙃 Anyway, they had a bake sale at my church for Mother's Day, and the plate I bought came with a fake flower, so I stuck it on Rosa when she was too tired to care. Fun fact: while I dislike plants in general and have a deep loathing for gardening, the main reason I don't keep plants in my home is that Rosa is a gremlin and always eats them. Since I moved to IL, she has eaten a pot of garlic chives (that I actually grew myself under much duress), a bridal bouquet I caught (that made her sick 😤 ), and two palms from Palm Sunday. Yikes. So yeah, no more plants for me. (Vegetables and fruits don't count. Today is April Fool's Day, but it is also Edwin and Rosa's 9th birthday! I sometimes post about them here and share their antics more often in my IG story. Edwin and Rosa were both abandoned as kittens: Edwin at 2 days and Rosa at 3 weeks (same litter, just abandoned at different times), so I raised them. Now we're all pretty inseparable, as you can see in some of the photos. 😂 They can't figure out how to leave me alone. For newcomers, Edwin is the fat, goofy one, and Rosa is the little, creepy one. They are both female since I thought Edwin was a boy when she was an infant (for reasons I won't detail here).
