i want to write a fic that is based primarily on canon, but i fear this will happen:

*sentence about Obi-Wan drinking black caf*

someone: “but Obi-Wan prefers tea!! he’s addicted to it!!!”

that’s popular fanon.

*sentence where Obi-Wan is being assertive*

someone: “b-but Obi-Wan can’t take care of himself! he’s my precious little meow meow and needs someone to take care of him!”

he’s a grown-ass man who raised a whole child.

*sentence about Cody being clueless to social cues and self-care*

someone: “but Cody is supposed to be doting and taking care of Obi-Wan! he’s supposed to know more about life and emotions than a thirty-five year old man who raised a child!!”

news flash: Cody is literally ten years old and is physically and mentally twenty. he’s only been raised for war. he has no fucking idea what social cues or self-care are. also. as i said before. Obi-Wan is a grown-ass man who raised a whole child!! HES THRICE CODY’S AGE YOU GUYS NEED TO START REALIZING THAT I FEAR

ok all does Obi-Wan Actually like tea or is that a fandom thing? because the only canon instance of him saying he likes any sort of beverage that i’ve seen so far is in Brotherhood where he says that he “drinks his caf straight black”

so he’s like a little fucking insane. but i’ve never seen him drink tea?? except for that one episode in tcw when he’s flirting w that separatist general over a tea party. so i’m thinking u guys just made this up bc he’s british lmaoo

i don’t think a good Jedi would leave the Order to be with a person they love. because that is the exact kind of selfishness and unhealthy attachment that the Jedi Do Not Condone.

i’m not talking about the love. i’m talking about leaving the Order because of that love.

you’re giving up your entire community, culture, family, and beliefs because you found one thing that you want more than all of it? That’s attachment. That’s selfishness. holding one thing above all else.

the problem with Anakin wasn’t his love for Padmé. it’s the fact that he held her above all other things. he was willing to give up everything in order to save her. he was willing to destroy the only structured community he had ever been a part of in order to keep her alive.

and she still died.

had Anakin loved Padmé in a normal way, had he been able to incorporate his love for her with his life as a Jedi, had he been able to love her and also love and protect the people of the Galaxy, things might have turned out very differently.

Anakin was right when he said that in the Jedi Code, “love is encouraged,” but the way he interpreted that love is what was wrong.

Jedi don’t love one thing over everything else. that is not their way. they love unconditionally and equally. it may not be the same kind of love for each thing, but none of that love is more or less than any other.

the Jedi are not selfish, they do not hate, they do not discriminate.

i think padawans are cursed to be unable to steal fruit.

like take Devon Izara, for example: tries to steal fruit because she’s hungry, gets caught, gets arrested, eventually ends up as a reluctant apprentice to a former Darth

and even Ezra Bridger, former street rat of 7 years, isn’t immune to this curse: he was able to steal fruit just fine when he was a normal street kid. he lived off of stealing fruit. but after he became a padawan, he struggles to steal one (1) meiloorun.
