one thing i am Angry About is eflornithine which was discovered in the 90s as a treatment for late stage african sleeping sickness (trypanosomiasis) which u know, sucks and Is Lethal BUT the supply was threatened for a long time bc nobody wanted to produce it bc saving the lives of rural africans wasn’t profitable to the industry
and then they discovered that u could put eflornithine in hair removal creams,, and that of course was much more important and companies like Vichy and Vaniqa started mass producing the stuff and marketing it mostly to desi women and spreading toxic bullshit about how having any kind of hair anywhere on your face Is Bad and thats the only reason there is even any kind of supply of the only drug that can currently treat phase 2 trypanosomiasis which untreated leads to coma and then death and that is the story of how white businessmen fuck everyone over

So I'm waiting on insurance to cover lab tests. Then starting on hrt with Spiro... Got a facial lotion which blocks hair growth called Eflornithine. I think I've noticed a bit of hair growth slowing, hopefully it'll help my 5 o clock shadow not show up! Can't wait to start electrolysis. Gotta start figuring out sperm cryopreservation before all that though... Scared and excited and looking through hrt tumblr makes me swoon and envious and hopeful, glad to see such beautiful people :)
