I love how Sevenseven is constantly humilated whenever he appears. He really is the pathetic blorbo of the family. I bet most people who hire him are like "Damn SixSix was already taken guess I'll have to go with SevenSeven"

Even when he was working together with SixSix, he was the one getting pushed down a flight of stairs while SixSix was using bombs.

“I couldn’t get SixSix.”

“Yeah, he can be hard to get a hold of. We can just get EightEight.”

“I called her first, she wouldn’t take the job.”

“Oh. …We’re going to have to hire SevenSeven aren’t we?”

“…Yeah.”

“Goddammit.”

An analysis (and rant of sorts)

So I just watched this video by Saberspark where they explain something called the Smurfette Principle (Click here to watch it). The Smurfette Principle is basically where any tv show, movie, or cartoon that has mainly male main characters has at least one female character who is mainly there to either be a love interest to one of the main male characters, or just so the studio has an excuse to sell a toy to girls. Now from hearing this I can already think of a couple shows and movies that I grew up watching or are still watching to this day. Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-man, Star Wars, the Smurfs, Season 1 of Young Justice, ect. But one series that I kept thinking of was Ben 10. 

(Pull up a chair and grab a snack, cause this might go on for a while.) 

Now in the original series in late 2005 you would think that Ben 10 would also be following this principle since Gwen was the only female character at the time (Aside from Kai who showed up sometime later, but this ain’t about her. Also correct me if I’m wrong because I haven’t watched the OG show in years) and also because at some point in either Alien Force or Ultimate Alien she and Kevin officially become a couple. But as I thought more about it, I realized that I would’ve only thought that at first glance, but since I’ve actually watched the show, I know that it’s not like that. 

Gwen, although is one of the only female main characters on the show, is still really smart and pretty powerful with her magic. And not to mention that in both the OG and the continuations (And the reboot) there were also other female characters who I think half were villains. Like Rojo, Charmcaster, Frightwig, and EightEight, just to name a few. And then there were other female characters like Lucy, Ester, Julie, Helen, Attea, and Looma, again to name a couple (Although a few of those female characters were female love interests for Ben, but I digress). 

Now in the video they also talk about the Bechdel Test which as you can expect is a test, or more simply a question that asks if the media that you are either viewing or making has at least 2 female characters that have at least one conversation that doesn’t involving talking about men. Now in the Ben 10 franchise we do see this quite a few times. One of the main times I can think of is Gwen and Charmcasters rivalry in the OG to a potential friendship in one of the later series and back to enemies. Though I can only think of a few other times this happens in Omniverse, mainly when Gwen is talking to Lucy. (I can’t really mention Attea, Looma, Ester, or Kai because whenever they all talked together well, I can only remember it being about Ben...)

Anyway, what I wanted to point out was that a form of media doesn’t have to follow the Bechdel Test to have good female characters. Characters like Ester, Looma, Attea, and Kai were all strong, smart, and potentially good female characters, but thanks to the writers basically all of them were obsessed with Ben for one reason or another. So hopefully the reboot can help fix that whole situation.

So, I took the edit from earlier today and evolved it into a comic, because I had nothing else I could be doing, so I decided to just add a bigger story to it.  Srsly, you two, even Vilgax ships it. Even mentioned something about “consummation.” (Quick note to the readers: don’t look that word up. Seriously. DON’T DO IT.)

Ben 10 Analysis Part 9:

*TenTen:

Species: Sotoraggian

Homeworld: Sotoragg

Abilities: Enhanced durability and agility. Suit contains laser guns, an energy buzz saw, an energy whip, a jetpack, missiles, grenades, flash bombs, paralysing bombs, laser discs, a laser sword and energized knuckles.

Weaknesses: Susceptible to strong smells without helmet.

Feats: Momentarily resisted gravity manipulation caused by a Galilean, and energised knuckles stopped an Arburian Pelarota.

*Dartshot:

*Species: Quillians

*Homeworld: Hystriverm

Abilities: Paralyzing and sleep inducing quills, enhanced strength, durability and agility, and can stop pulse to play dead.

Weaknesses: Quills can be glued to head, and only has a limited amount,

Feats: Can jump through a boarded-up window, can survive being hit by a car and thrown several miles, quills can pierce cement, knock out a Talpaedan, and, if all are used at once, can knock out a To’kustar.

*Iron Fist:

Species: Acrosian

*Homeworld: Acrosia

Abilities: Enhanced strength and durability, detachable head with mechanical body, and hands can detach from body to move on their own and act as a grappling hook or fly with rocket boosters.

Weaknesses: Body will fall apart under high pitched noises.

Feats: Can survive getting punched by Fourarms, can tear through Wildvine tendrils, hand can momentarily keep up with XLR8, and is heavy enough to keep him in place by stepping on his tail.

*Prowler:

Species: Zaroffian

Homeworld: Sangerosia

Abilities: Enhanced strength, durability, agility, and ultrasonic whistle

Weaknesses: Whistle can be stopped by blocking “gills”

Feats: Can punch a hole in a brick wall, can wrestle with an Appoplexian, survived an explosion caused by a crashing spaceship, and can dodge laser shots.

*Harshmallow

Species: Lewodan

Homeworld: Lewoda

Abilities: Flexible and stretchy body, flight, electromagnetism control, and skilled in hand-to-hand combat.

Weaknesses: Electromagnetism can interfere with nearby electronics.

Feats: For a time, can hold their own in a fight with an Appoplexian.

*Vomiteria:

Species: Limax

*Homeworld: Sarcodix

Abilities: Shapeshifting, elasticity, regeneration, duplication, immunity to fire, enhanced strength and enhanced speed.

Weaknesses: Body is frail and squishy, and water contact is fatal.

Feats: Can keep pace with a speeding golf cart and keep it in place by holding onto it.

*Snotty:

Species: Protost

Homeworld: Myceto

Abilities: Elasticity, regeneration, enhanced strength and speed, and gelatinous body allows limited shapeshifting.

Weaknesses: Vulnerable to energy attacks.

Feats: Can tear apart metal easily, and can regenerate from remains small enough to be invisible to the naked eye.

*Mermaim:

*Species: Thalassian

Homeworld: Thalassia

Abilities: Enhanced strength and durability, and can change legs into a fish tail.

Weaknesses: Can only survive outside of water for 1 day every 5.22 years.

Feats: Can throw around the minions of Vulkanus with little effort, and can survive water pressure strong enough to kill a human.

*Species: Gigantos

*Homeworld: Gargantua

Abilities: Large size, can sense mana

Weaknesses: Size makes them an easy target.

Feats: Can bite through cars, wrestle with a Vaxasaurian, and can survive being blasted by lasers and acid.

*Snakepit:

*Species: Pythoran

*Homeworld: Squamophide

Abilities: Acidic spit and enhanced strength, durability and agility.

Weaknesses: Lack of hands makes holding objects difficult.

Feats: Acid can melt through metal and can survive being crushed between two cars.
