Eija coughed loudly, clapping her hand over her mouth after a couple to try and cover up the rest. She pulled her hand away and grimaced at the blood in her hand, bright against her pale skin. “Ah...” That was all she managed to say before breaking into another coughing fit.

One of my D&D tablemates ran a Daggerheart oneshot this weekend, and it was pretty fun! It was also set in the Horizon universe, which made for some interesting reflavoring of magic abilities.

This is Eija, a Faerie/Fungril Winged Sentinel seraph from a distant settlement located on what was known to the Old Ones as Iceland. Her Cradle got a bit mixed up with a seed vault and thus the people it made were... not quite to the original blueprint, so to speak. She's a socially awkward but very curious Old World ruins explorer whose Wings of Light are hardlight tech she found during a delve.

Eija also bears a 50-krona coin the sacred sigil of the crablike deity "SOKR"... who ended up actually being the AI in charge of her Cradle whom we had to save from being overridden by HEPHAESTUS.
