So so soooo what's your headcanon for hoe Yusuke and Mako met?

THAT....... THAT IS A GOOD QUESTION

ONE THAT I DON’T REALLY HAVE AN EXACT ANSWER FOR YET

I got into the ship thanks to RP stuff many, maaaaany years ago, and how they first met there was that Yusuke was trying to find a way to escape from where they were stuck (it was a multifandom game that was basically EVERYONE IS TRAPPED ON AN ISLAND, ENJOY), and Jupiter came to help him and immediately became doki-dokis over him (because she’s Mako and that’s what she does) and they became good friends over time even though Yusuke was largely unaware of her feelings towards him until a little bit later sobs

(funny enough, though, I started RPing Yusuke again recently and found a different Makoto on a mistletoe meme thing and replied to them expecting her to be put off by his attitude, but-- nope. SHE BECAME IMMEDIATELY SMITTEN WITH HIM TOO, so Yusuke is just has this... Mako attraction aura, I guess???)

OUTSIDE OF RP SCENARIOS THOUGH-- I can imagine it’d be something fairly similar? I outlined how a YuYuMoon scenario could work out here, so following in line with that, it’s possible they could have ran into one another while trying to take down a common enemy? It’s entirely possible they wind up scrapping with one another because she could have possibly seen him as a threat, and Yusuke keeps her in mind because she’s the only one of the core team that seemed to be able to match him in a fight. And maybe not too long after that, Usagi drags Mako to this new noodle stand she’s been obsessed with and it turns out it’s Yusuke’s and Mako is just like .......IT’S THAT JERK and Yusuke’s like ?? EXCUSE YOU WHAT because he may not be able to tell she’s the same girl he sparred against the other night

IDK THOUGH, there are a ton of cute possibilities and AUs for them (like... rival delinquents who also have a thing for one another AU??  or an AU where Yusuke met her during his ghost trials?? WHICH I HAVE WRITTEN AN UNFINISHED DRABBLE FOR WHICH I PROBABLY SHOULD JUST PUBLISH ALREADY SINCE IT’LL NEVER BE DONE), so thinking of a definitive one is hard!! (though I wouldn’t mind hearing your headcanons on it myself because your YusuMako stuff has been A++ excellent and I love it AAAA ;A;)
