No context for this, I just wanted to draw Eketh being angy and figure out a good simpler style.

Also, my apologies for the folks out there waiting for asks! I will get to em, but I had a long week of work so I just got settled down to do these linearts!

Ұ How tall is your character compared to their peers? Wanna see squid height comparison pls, who's the tallest out of your illithids?

This took a whole lot longer than I expected it to, but here you go! Asides from outfits that may carry heels over, generally speaking, all of the squids are either average, or above average height!

Sa'keret standing the tallest at 7'2" feet (218 centimetres) would be an intimidating force upon the battlefield. Not only is he large, but he also has the strength necessary to take down whatever is in his way.

S'anuk stands at 6 feet (183 centimeters) of a fairly average build. Generally dpeaking he lowers himself a tiny bit to look closer to the ground, but it is hard for him to get a balance on some things as walking can be a...task. Overall, lying low has been his forté for as long as he can say the words moss.

Lotusen and Eketh stand at 5'8" feet (173 centimetres) tall. The only thing is that Eketh had a hunched over posture that remained while be was exploring the surface, which had gotten worse when he went through his werewolf transformation. Lotusen kept themselves upright to cause less suspicion on their completely covered form, but also because of the pride they carry with rheir knowlege. Overall, they do not suffer physically as Eketh does, but more mentally.

Which gives the funny scene of Eketh trying to boss anyone around and it's just Sa'keret interpreting the scalding words as like...a kitten's paw.

@my-own-personal-l : To make this easier on meself, I shall answer the questions individually in each post!

@ all characters: do you know each other? What do you think about everyone else?

Lotusen narrating: We have not known each other for long. We were hardly aware of each other's realities. But in a short span of time here, our opinions of each other amount to this...

Squid narrating: ...there is a lot of opinions and not all of them are positive. Eketh is unkind, but ashamed. Lotusen is paranoid, but open-minded. S'anuk is oblivious, but at peace. Sa'keret is tense and closed up.

Lotusen's opinion: I have to be more cautious now. For my thoughts are exposed, but even so, I can sense a great amount of distaste for the other that claims to be a cleric.

Sa'keret's opinion: ...lots of introverts. Not much to talk about, I suppose.

S'anuk: No one can make me unhappy! These new friends are all so peaceful!

Eketh's opinion: The new faces are cowardly and idiotic. But nothing that I cannot handle if I were to face them off...

Squid narrating: ...they'll grow on one another. Hopefully.

Would any one of your squids wear something really extravagant? Stuff like mithril bracers, tentacle rings, or lace cuffs?

Generally speaking, yes! The illithids have their own fashion sense with the exceprion mainly being S'anuk. In summary, Eketh would be the one to wear things that are enchanted to enhance his magical property, as well as Lotusen.

However, in addition, Lotusen would also wear things that are vibrant or pastel for the sake of liking the color scheme. Sa'keret has very little lore, but I also remember drawing him with butterfly tattoos and giving him an earing in the inventory.

The following is a few sketches and a transcript of the writing.

Late game Eketh had more of a sense of presentable appearence out of all my Illithids. He would get nasal and tendril piercingd, bracelets and clawed rings. He also pierces his frills, but that's neither here nor there.

Lotusen has only ever bought outfitd when the party, namely the Rogue, drags them to the store. Typically they get variant and vibrant colors of fabrics and headscarves. And small accessories like flower clips. They could also get a tattoo someday.

Sa'keret, being less developed, still had some old scribble of him having a butterfly tattoed onto his back. They also had a spare earing and piercings on his frills. Generally speaking, he isn't the type of guy to wear a shirt either.

Question for the author-

What do you headcanon as good Voice actors for your illithids?

Ohoho, I had not considered this question being asked...well, ever! I always voices for my characters, but to choose a voice HC myself is exhilarating~! Thought it is hard, I tend to be picky at the way I wish to portray how my character’s act and think, which does mean that the voice I see has to fit that role itself. 

That said, I did some research into this, and I think I came across a selection of VAs portraying characters that I think would fit for them, and what song/show/movie/narration/video game character would best fit because of that.

S’anuk

Joshua J. Ballard, who most notably played Mune in Mune: Guardian of the Moon. His voice is high and relatively soft, and yet can be mature at times. I specifically found that his personality revolves around smaller, kinder acts towards animals and other creatures, while being put down for being different. Those two can relate to each other very well, which is why I am confirming that this would be the one for the Druid, who knows no better.

Sa'keret

Rory Charles Graham, also known as the musical artist “Rag’n’Bone Man” is the closest I can get to his tone, grit, and powerful lower voice, but passionate speaking quality. He is usually silent, but he speaks in a straightforward manner about emotional struggles, such as in Graham’s song “Human”, one of the most popular of his songs. It’s hard for me to choose as I only played this character once, but it makes the most sense to me to let it go to the man I used to inspire his character.

Eketh

Gary Oldman, who notably voiced Shen from Kung Fu Panda: 2 as well as  Sirius Black in the Harry Potter Movie Series. I listed the latter as to give further examples of this Actor (I’ve never watched or read the series), but overall it’s more the former that I think he relates to the most. Generally speaking, he can hold himself up to such grace, but has the potential to sound vile and conniving when things don’t go his way. He does have a sense of jitters as well, nerves can be found in the anger of his voice, before he leans in to deliver a devastating insult on one before using it to his advantage. 

Lotusen

Helen Mirren, who voices Nyra in the movie Guardians of Ga’hoole. This one is the hardest, not going to lie. I typically cannot find a voice claim for them because they have a German accent which is androgynous in it’s own form, and I don’t often get that with voice actors in general. But the calm voice that they use, that sound motherly and sickly sweet, almost as if you expect them to coat the edge of their own words with poison. They have done it before, but now, their voice is a lull in comparison to their thoughts. They have been good to their party, but good never means nice. But they will try to be nice, as much as it hurts.
