happy birthday elanor!
Happy Hobbit Day!
"And he went on, and there was yellow light, and fire within; and the evening meal was ready, and he was expected. And Rose drew him in, and set him in his chair, and put little Elanor upon his lap. He drew a deep breath.
‘Well, I’m back,’ he said."

Book Three, The Return of the King
The Grey Havens
The ending tears me apart every single time. However, I am one of those who gladly sucked up the appendices afterward. Getting to know at least a bit how Sam's life went on after letting Frodo go was always a great comfort.
I found this illustration and really love it. Sam reading to his children from the red book...

Monster Hunter Stories 3 continues to be fun. Of the monsters I've been raising I've gotten particularly attached to a Nerscylla named Charlotte... Which is something because Nerscylla is a big ol' spider.
thinking of your flower/plant hobbits- what if one of the things that made Sam’s daughter Elanor so notable was that she was actually, like *elanor*, the flower? À type of flower never seen before in the Shire?
Ahh I love that idea!! It's super fitting imo; maybe Sam was able to plant some elanor flowers for Rosie? Or his love of the flower was enough for their daughter to be born with the flower? Aaaa I just love the idea hahaa Thank you for sharing, anon! <333
fourth closet baby from back in august.. aaah i love her design!!
for @tolkienfemfeb day 21 (a bit late, rip), using the quote prompt “His daughter Elanor the Fair is one of the maids of Queen Evenstar.” and the prompt words garland, trial, silk, spring, moonlit. I wrote a 100-word drabble and provided a little sketch of Elanor daydreaming~
Elanor daydreams of Queen Evenstar. She fantasizes of dancing with her, the Queen in silks, herself in bright garlands. She dreams of Arwen sweeping her off her feet beneath the moonlit sky. She sighs at the thought of resting her head on Arwen’s bosom, feeling her warmth, and knows it would be a trial not to press a kiss upon her breast. That first spring of her service to the Queen, Elanor thinks only of dance. Her daydreams fade when summer warms— but only when Lady Éowyn arrives from Ithilien, and she starts to muse on riding with her, instead.
