I’m a heart beating in the world is a participatory performance and concert that unfolds in the natural hot springs of Hvammsvík. Created by dance and performance artist Maija Mustonen (b.1979, Helsinki, Finland), Hrefna Lind Lárusdóttir (b.1985, Reykjavik, Iceland), and dramaturg Ami Karvonen, with music and visuals by Rusto Myllylahti (b.1983, Tornio, Finland)/ Elatu Nessa, the work invites audience members into the water to experience floating, touch, and movement as part of a live installation. Combining concert, choreography, and embodied interaction, the performance foregrounds softness and slowness and explores the gentle power of water as a choreographic element.

The working group also includes performer-dancers Vasilliki Kontopoulou and Saga Kjerulf Sigurdardóttir and a visual artist Caressa Betist.

Elatu Nessa - Lumi palaa

on noin 17 minuutin pituinen improvisaatiohetki pianolla.

Pelkistettynä ja toisteisena soiva kappale on myös ääniraita lumisille hangille, metsälle, talolle ja netille. Kaiken kylmän keskellä on lumi joka palaa.

Kappale on äänitetty maaliskuussa 2024 Mustarinda -talon olohuoneen pianolla.

Pianoäänitteen rinnalla on audiotausta, joka on äänitetty Örön saarella helmikuussa 2022. Voit kuunnella niitä molempia yhtä aikaa tai erikseen omina ääniraitoinaan.

Lumi palaa on jatkoa Elatu Nessan kotitekoiseen musiikkiin sekä eri paikoissa pianolla toteutettuihin improvisaatiohetkiin.

Elatu Nessa

"Uniin ne karat - est une berceuse à la guitare. Conçue pour s'endormir, respirer, relaxer. Une musique nocturne simple et dépouillée, dans la tradition des berceuses éthiopiennes tezeta et dans la tradition de pas mal de berceuses de différentes cultures autour du monde. Il y a sur ce morceau, enregistré chez moi, un bruit de fond quasi inaudible en provenance de la fenêtre. Le morceau a été édité de sa version d'origine de 12 minutes, parue sur ma première cassette "Oletu Nessa" (2015).

Elatu Nessa est une combinaison maison de guitares et chants psychédéliques, de blues et de boucles enneigés. C'est la bande-son de champs de neige, de rêves de désert, d'une vaisselle qu'on nettoie, de l'acte d'amour. Des sons self-made, home-made, ready-made et trouvés à l'aide de guitares bluesy sorties d'une poubelle et d'ordinateurs imaginaires. Elatu Nessa est un projet solo formé en 2015 par Rusto Myllylahti".

"Uniin ne karat - is guitar based lullaby. Made to fall asleep and to breath and relax. Stripped and simple evening music influenced by the ethiopian tradition of tezeta lullabies and the tradition of sleep songs that are universal around different cultures. There is almost unhearable background noise on the track recorded from the window of my home. Track is edited from a 12 minute version of this song that is appearing on my first cassette release Elatu Nessa - Oletu Nessa (2015).

Elatu Nessa is home-made meditative combination of psychedelic guitars, chants, snowy blues and loops. It is a soundtrack for a snowy fields, desert dreams, washing dishes and making love. Self-made, home-made, ready made and found sounds with blues guitars from the dumpster and imaginary computers. Elatu Nessa is a solo project formed in 2015 by Rusto Myllylahti."
