hello, can I ask about the five times will went on an okay date fic? like, the idea, character concepts, an excerpt or anything else you'd want to share--or, if nothing, feel free to ignore this lmao
oooh, yes! I’d love to talk about it. I want to explore Will coming into his own as a gay man and figuring out for himself what he likes and what he doesn’t like, making friends, learning about queer culture and history, broadening his horizons, and exploring his sexual desires. a character study in 6 vignettes is the goal.
I have started on it a little but haven’t been able to work on it as much as I want because there are other things I need to get done lol. but basically here is the premise:
these 6 dates range from kinda bad to pretty good but missing something. I want to cover his very first date (!) and how that might go. there’s obviously going to be some awkwardness and nerves. it’s important to me that this happens pretty much immediately the first time he ever steps foot in a gay bar lol. a man is like HELLo who is THAT. id also like to cover his first sexual encounter. that is going to involve some of the same issues, but ultimately be good for will and ofc very informative. the bad date will involve an activity will hates every second of but the guy is so hot so he tries to rally. there will also be a really good date with someone he can’t really be with for secret reasons. lastly, there’s going to be another awkward hookup.
I wanted this fic to end on the date we see in the epilogue. ive said before that the hate carlton/danny gets is sooo infuriating to me because he’s the only gay character who canonically is romantically interested in will. this is the good date. even if I prefer my friends’ OCs and chance and mike to epilogue bf for will, I really really would love to portray him in a positive light as someone will feels safe and loved with.
