Totally forgot that I was sitting on some decent chill house beats.

I made them during my “future funk is too hard and I’ll never figure it out so I’m gonna give up” phase.

I was bored today and went through my FL Studio projects. Months of stuff I totally forgot about. A good chunk of that stuff really needs to be deleted haha but the rest of it blew my damn mind. I couldn’t believe I made it. I know I say that all the time (because it’s true) about the music I make. I still can’t wrap my head around being at the level that I’m at.

Had to put music on the back burner for a bit. Work has been running me ragged lately. So, once I finish up my future funk mixtape, I’ll show off some of these house beats.

I think things are going well with my electronic music journey.

A few months ago, I had very little knowledge of music creation and even less actual talent. Took crazy amounts of effort just to muster up a bad 8 bar loop. These days, I feel like my feet are firmly planted in decent and not too bad territory. My tracks are still very safe and basic, but my plan always was to learn the basic formula of any given sub-genre of electronic music before I start adding my own spice to the recipe.

It was something of a New Year's resolution back in January and I'm glad I have kept at it and didn't give up or put it on the back burner once February rolled around. Go me!

However, I'm still not sure exactly what it is I hope to accomplish with this. Maybe it will simply turn out to be just another tool on my belt. A trick I pull out during parties or whatever. Maybe it turns into a part-time or even full-time job. Maybe I get extremely lucky and become a star and play at festivals or some shit like that. I don't know.

But I am having fun. And for now, that's all that matters.
