It was late at night when he heard rustling and the sounds of footsteps, he blew out his candle and set it down on the nearest table. Had an intruder come inside? Couldn’t be. He had checked twice before coming inside. It must be one of the servants walking around.

Sebastian went to check out who was up and found Lady Elizabeth standing in the hallway. “It’s late, Lady Elizabeth. You should head back to bed.”

"It's an old wound... I promise you, it doesn't hurt." Hannah smiled a little at the compliment. Not many people would refer to her as 'sweet.' Of course, the girl in front of her had no idea of her true nature, but even then, compared to others of her kind, perhaps she could be consider more sweet.

"As for my master, his name is Alois Trancy. Now, may I ask what your name is?" It was only then that she realized that she hadn't been properly introduced herself. "My name is Hannah."

The girl’s outburst of emotion was certainly expected.  This must have been bugging her for awhile and being in a household with more traditional ideals was not easy.  She had no one to confide in and it seems he was her only option.  

He could tell for awhile that Elizabeth was not content with her studies.  He was only teaching her subjects that was expected that a young lady should know and what her parents thought was appropriate.  No one had stopped to ask what she wanted to learn.  

Ryo reached inside his pocket and gave her his spare handkerchief for her to dry her tears.  

“Of course not, Lady Midford.  I honestly don’t think there isn’t anyone better suited for the position of fiance to the of Earl Phantomhive than you.  I think its outstanding that you want to help your future husband as much as you do.  Normally girls you age and class are more concerned about preparing for marriage and motherhood, not helping their husband run a business and being their protector.  It’s a shame more women can’t be like you.”, Ryo comforted to the best of his ability.

“If its philosophy you want to learn more about, I certainly can make that happen.  I can talk with your parents about having your curriculum match more with Lord Phantomhive’s so you can assist him with his business endeavors.  I’m sure they would have objections, especially your brother who was once my student, but if the Earl wants you to be by his side, they can’t say no.”

“Hello, Grel! I was wondering would you mind if I did you hair? Kind of a test for a new braided bun I saw!” Elizabeth explained.

“As my lady wishes…” Grell said, resigned, and tugged the ribbon out of her hair. Ordinarily, she enjoyed having her hair played with, but in this case she feared it was just going to be roughly tugged about by a sticky-fingered child.
