I wanted to showcase some of the animation I saw in this featurette where they talk about the process of developing Ember and her fire mechanics. There were many great snippets of animation that I haven't seen elsewhere. The first test is kind of frightening but I love it. I guess that's one thing Elemental needed more of, more horror ;)

Elemental was such a sweet surprise. It feels like we rarely get romantic films like this anymore especially ones that look this good. I’ve always loved drawing fire (so much emotion and movement!), and Ember was a dream to paint. Honestly, I think this one flew under the radar because it wasn’t marketed quite right. It didn’t open big at the box office, but it slowly found its audience and I’m glad it did. A hidden gem worth watching.
