This is actually a redraw of an old character design I made back in 2015 (or maybe 2016). 🍌🍨 She started as a personified banana split, and I thought it’d be fun to revisit her. It definitely feels good to see how much I’ve improved over the years, and I honestly love the style I chose for this piece. 💕

Lately, I felt like my drawing skills had become a little stagnant, so I decided it was time to go back to the basics.
While scrolling through Instagram, I came across a small online class called Paws and Poses. The course is all about drawing, illustration, and creating characters using cats, and I thought, “Why not?”Even though it’s geared more toward beginners and intermediate artists, I don’t think it’s ever a bad idea to revisit the fundamentals. Sometimes a refresher is exactly what you need.

I’ve been working on a series of illustrations based on the original LGBT flag and the meanings associated with each color.
For this series, I wanted to explore those ideas through Xander and Zane’s relationship.

I’ve always loved centaurs. 🦄✨
One of my favorite parts of Fantasia was the centaur segment, and growing up around horses probably made me even more inclined to love them. Between the mythology, fantasy, and my family’s horses, it was probably inevitable that I’d end up drawing a few of my own.
Originally this wasn’t even a nekomimi character.
Somewhere along the way she grew cat ears and a tail, and honestly I think it was the right choice.
