Elementary school me: High schoolers are so cool, so smart, so put-together! They know everything! They can work to make their own money!
High school senior me: *Bangs my head against the table at 3AM, surrounded by books, sheets and laptop, trying to finish 100 pages essay I forgot about while wearing an old hoodie, torn sweatpants and old glasses. Under the pile of sheets is a big cup of coffee and very cheap cookies because I'm broke af* Is it excepted or accepted?
Happy Birthday novelist Daniel Stashower, author, "The Harry Houdini Mysteries"! 2012 VIDEO INTERVIEW
DANIEL STASHOWER audio excerpt: "If you and I were talking a couple years ago and you said they're going to do this show called Sherlock and it's set in the present day and it's going to be 'Jim' from the British version of The Office, I'd have said, 'Oh, that's going to be terrible!' Of course, I sat down and watched it and liked it. So I am open to being pleasantly surprised by Elementary. There are a lot of good people connected with it, so I will watch it with an open mind.”

Elementary
Jeder von uns hat doch so eine Schwäche oder? Einen wunden Punkt, der einen dazu bringen kann, jedes Prinzip zu verraten, das man je hatte.
Elementary
Getting some high awards #emory #elemtary #awards #gogirl #penny
In Elementary, Natalie Dormer plays both MORiArtY and IRENe ADleR ??... ! My two favorite characters. Played by a woman. The same woman. Who is Natalie Dormer. Today has been a revelation, and I've only been awake for 1 hour.
Oh my god, the most recent episode of Elementary!
I AM IN LOVE WITH THE WRITERS SERIOUSLY YOU THINK I'M JOKING BUT I'M NOT
REPRESENTATION MOTHERFUCKING REPRESENTATION
(warning for spoilers)
Usually I'm skeptical of characters who get the sudden!Queer treatment, but for Alastair it totally made sense. He was an actor friend of Sherlock's, mentions of who he's interested in would be pretty random. So, we get to see that he's an addict, he's queer (I'm gonna assume bi or pan--he's had relationships with men and women--but we can't know for sure), and his queerness has nothing to do with his death. No one even comments on it, and for once that's the right choice.
Sherlock casually saying "his partner, Ian," was a really beautiful moment, personally. It continues the trend of Elementary offering up queer characters who are not defined by their queerness. Iris (the ballerina) was more defined by her career as a really really talented dancer as compared to her difficulties forming long-term connections with people, Mrs. Hudson by her searching for a place in the world, and Alastair by his being Sherlock's friend and being an actor who's really good at accents.
Now, I'd still like to see Elementary have some more long-term queer characters, because it's sad to see so many of them dead (granted, most characters on Elementary are/end up being dead because of the nature of the show). But this was another step in the right direction.
