Hi :D I'm about to make a creepypasta of my own and I was wondering. What do you think makes a good creepy pasta? (I know its abit out of the bloom considering I only just watched you too XD But it would really help if you answered :D)
OOOOOOKAAAAAAAAY
so this is about 3 years late.. because Jeffy went to sleep for a long ass time
BUT
IF you’re still even on tumblr, and still interested in joining the creepy fam, the making of a good creepypasta includes (but isn’t limited to):
Creep factor - level: high af -give him/her a backstory as descriptive or as vague as you want but make it hella spooky for ultimate creep.
triggers -you can’t be afraid of triggering content, ie; gore, blood, death, murder, etc... it’s all pretty hand in hand with the CP content
originality -use personal experiences and fears and shit that gives you the ultimate creeps and use it. Anything that scares you or freaks you out in the dark is a good start. If you don’t want to run into it at night, you’re on the right track. And giving them a good heckin backstory is key.
descriptive appearance -be clear and descriptive in what he/she/it looks like. If your audience can’t put a face to the name and story, it won’t be as creepy.
Relatability (it’s a word now, eat it) -Personally, in my opinion, the more you can relate to a “monster” the scarier he becomes. Because anyone can become a monster given the right circumstances. And finding out what we’re all capable of is pretty fucking scary.
cryptic -dude, being cryptic in dialogue and descriptive elsewhere is gonna be your best friend when writing a CPC. Leaving the other characters suspicious but letting the readers/muns know their intentions OR flipside - be super vague but descriptive. Describe settings and appearances, but leave thoughts and dialogue super vague until you want their intentions and plots to be revealed to the audience / other characters.
don’t be afraid to be scary
don’t be shy about your character or his story
just have a lot of fuckin fun with it
hope this helped.
