(via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdOcAprp5ew) Yes, elevated #pushups will be harder but since when does harder mean smarter? The elevated push-up becomes harder due to the new angle, shifting more of your body weight forward and forcing your shoulders to work harder. This is not a good technique to use because the anterior deltoid (front shoulder muscle) takes on too much of the exercise. Push-Ups are a upper body workout mainly utilizing the core and chest muscles.
The chest no longer takes on the brunt of the exercise and the small muscle, anterior deltoid takes on too much of the body weight. This might cause the anterior deltoid to hypertrophy but at a GREAT COST. This will pull the shoulder too far forward and potentially cause shoulder impingement. This is already common with poor form in the bench press or over use of the bench exercise.
I would implore you not to elevate the the feet in the push-up. The cons are much greater than the pros in this exercise. I recommend sticking with the regular push-up. Lift Life Fit Freaks! Find me here, zeeksfitfreaks.com
The study of universal grammar is a joint venture in between globetrotting theoreticians who else worry about impossible grammars and laboratory experimentalists who put young children through these extremely hard grammars. Perhaps, as with physics, one of these times there will be a grand specific theory of common grammar. Linguistics today is where physics was in the age of Galileo and Kepler. The gathering of principles may possibly one day be replaced simply by one powerful principle - perhaps only the principle of recursion. that underlies them. Universal grammar continues to be waiting for its Newton and Einstein. No matter what it turns out to be, it is job its to maintain children on the right track for their language.
