LL, real name Eli Johnston was born and raised in New York–originally they were named Eliza, but later on began going by Eli, to the point they consider it their real name. They were orphaned at a very young age and taken in by a gang. Though they were raised in a harsh environment and became a skilled unarmed fighter, they maintained a dignified and honorable personality. Perhaps this is why they ended up marrying Gregory Johnston, a man of much more respectable background. Shortly after their relationship had started, Eli cut ties with the gang, thinking that was that, and Gregory never knew any better–however, they weren’t going to get away so easily.
After some time had passed, Eli and Gregory had a baby boy. However, when the boy was only a few months old, the gang came back into Eli’s life, seeing their actions as a betrayal. After a series of increasing monetary demands, Gregory was killed, and Eli fled, leaving their son in the care of his extended family.
Eli wandered across the country on horseback, changing their presentation from feminine to more androgynous and calling themself ‘LL,’ eventually settling in California after gaining their stand along the way. They caught wind of the SBR and, after some deliberation, chose to participate, using it as motivation to finally return to New York and deal with everything they’d left behind. They’re hoping to win a money prize in the hopes it’ll deter the gang from coming back around.
(Some people might question their decision not to carry a weapon. LL, however, considers their fists enough to defend themself.)

Abilities: Skip to My Lu’s head and torso are made out of metal, while the rest of its ‘body’ and ‘hair’ consists of cloth that it can unwind into separate threads. Its fingers are in fact incredibly sharp, and it utilizes them as scissors or as needles of a sort. Of course, they can also be used for the much simpler purpose of cutting people.
Primarily, Skip to My Lu is used less as a method of direct attack and more as an aid to LL when they fight. It unwinds its hair or body into separate threads, about four feet long. It then uses its fingers as needles to embed the thread into practically anything, but usually opponent’s limbs. As the threads remain connected to Skip to My Lu’s body, it can then control their actions by moving these threads. However, these threads can also be used against Skip to My Lu, as they are connected to its body, in which case it will immediately cut them with its fingers. The ability to unwind most of its body (excluding its torso) makes Skip to My Lu difficult to damage.
It can also unwind and use threads not connected to its body, but LL prefers to go with the threads already provided, as that’s the simplest method. Hypothetically, Skip to My Lu could be used for many other things: to set traps, to restrain people, to stitch wounds–if it can be done with needle and thread, it can be done with Skip to My Lu.
