Weird casual reminder that Chance and Elise are, technically speaking, best friends. Neither of them likes to admit it.
After Elise shot Tass, the first person she called was actually Chance. She needed someone that understood her rage, someone that would be calm but not tell her overreacted. Jasper was the second person, after she had calmed down a bit.
After Tass finally went to see Elise after getting back, the first person she called was Chance. Hearing how upset she was over the entire thing made him track Tass down and start a fight (although not a physical one because he wasn’t going to risk getting dragged back to the underworld).
Chance and Elise actually get along for the most part. He could almost consider her a sibling and he often forgets that Tassos is not actually Elise’s father. They occasionally get coffee together and compare notes.

Elise 100% likes Jasper more than anyone else her mother is with or has been with. (Cam is a close second in current, but ranks third overall to Jasper and Britt). She honestly wishes that Jasper were her father.
