Omg!! Ofc! I've made a simple visual for this since my ranting might not make sense.
I've made Ford more bolder and insane for research, he loves knowing more and wants to know EVERYTHING, this bill more free range and eventually, kills someone and they're a crisp. Coincidentally Ford had asked Stanley to visit him, he wanted to ensure his books were safe since he was skeptical his wonderful information would be ruined by another. Stanley visit, and is freaked out because there is a fucking body and Ford is telling him about some book. They fight, he pushes him into the portal, but since bill is there the portal fucking EXPLODES, Stanley hurts his head and can't remember what happened other than an explosion.
He Mistakes the body for Ford, funeral and mourning, Stanley's lawyer Elijah attends since he's the only guy supporting Stanley.
Ford is in the other dimensions with bill, it starts off as the usual toxic yaoi, then Ford gets ear about the entity of balance from an advertisment(Elijah, he becomes a lawyer for any one and so happens to be one for Stanley cause balance was shifting wrong) he's very interested, he asks Bill about it and Bill who senses that Ford is too interested than he wants him to be avoids it. Ford investigates the research about Elijah himself and in fact becomes very invested and asks Bill if they could meet Elijah, which refuses stating they need enough power to even meet him(he's lying. He just wants an excuse to keep Ford away.)
As they further set off, Ford gets increasingly tired and uninterested in Bill. He's not answering his questions, he's found his curiosity is not satisfied and ultimately decides. "I'll take his power and find him myself." He prepares and untimely takes Bill's powers, also "accidentally" killing him.
Elijah is pretty busy with a very grief stricken Stanley, but he's found it more tolerable, now he resides in his actual home to do work after getting everything done and.. Now his client's dead brother talking to him and frantically trying to convince him that this was fate and he was his muse.
Elijah could kill him, but..cmon' that's his client's brother..surely he'd be happy to see him again..just gotta make sure he doesn't kill people to feed him hearts(elijah's source of energy.)
Now they're stuck together,much to Ford's joy and Elijah's dismay.
