you met at a small pub in dublin after one of your gigs. little did you know it would hardly be the first time you visited it together and sat at the table by the second window.
you are his biggest fan, and he is yours. nothing like a couple that promotes one another's gigs and musical releases.
which naturally includes standing in the front row or backstage of each other's gigs. a kiss of good luck, a squeeze of hands, and off you go — perhaps an apparition as a surprise guest and a shared microphone to make the fans go crazy.
however, the quiet moments are the ones which matter the most. his messy brown hair and half-asleep rasp of a voice when he's just woken up. maybe you're not dublin-born, but it certainly feels like home now.
indirect references are the best. he leaves comments under your instagram posts. something about a joke that only you would understand, and that warms your heart. you're the first to reply whenever inhaler even remotely hints at a new project or show. 'the lads are thinking big' and 'i'm excited xx'
elijah is in love with you, and you're in love with him. common knowledge. all because of one single chance encounter.

The streets were dimly lit, every second lamp turned off by the city to save energy and protect the insects living in the surrounding. The blue of her heart reflecting in the sky she was walking beneath. Her feet heavy as they made their way further away from the train station she just told him goodbye at. Arms wrapped around herself to keep his scent and touch in her vicinity.
Her head was spinning as she opened the door to her apartment only to find his ghost still lingering everywhere. The kitchen still held the smell of the coffee he made for them in the morning. Her record collection was filled with new names he picked out for her. Half her closet was his now. His dirty clothes were mixed with hers. Lyrics he wrote for her were scribbled next to her own. A duet that neither could finish in honesty but it felt right all the same.
i don’t know if you listen to inhaler but i was wondering if you could write some elijah hewson smut? or even maybe a threesome with braeden and eli. whichever you want :) thanks so much!! i love your stories sm xx

Weed Talking — Elijah Hewson
Summary: (based off request) The guys are back from tour and you invite them and some old friends over to your childhood home. Your feelings for Elijah have been around for years, but when you get high they seem to heighten, and there’s no hiding from him…
Warnings: mentions/use of weed, a few suggestive moments and thoughts, alcohol, aggressive make out sesh.
A/N: I decided to put a bit of a spin on the request just to spice it up a little bit. Hopefully that’s okay with everyone hehehe xxx
There was something about being back in your childhood home with all of them — like the years hasn't passed at all. You'd set out blankets in the back garden, grabbed spare duvets and snacks, and someone (probably Rob) had already queued the same playlist you all used when you were seventeen.
Rob's girlfriend, Martha, and your best friend, Caoimhe, were sitting cross-legged under the fairy lights you'd strung up that afternoon, passing a joint between them while Sam and Lucy argued about whether the moon looked "mystical" or "like a bad drawing." Ryan and Josh were somewhere near the fire pit your parents fitted in about a year ago now, laughing over God knows what, and Elijah...well, Elijah was beside you.

Halloween. You watched out the window as the queues around the esteemed venue picked up, seeing the array of costumes on the streets below. The band had opted on arriving to the Royal Albert Hall early in the morning, so as not to attract too much attention upon doing so, and you were now sitting up in their dressing room as you planned out your day preparing for the gig.
You had travelled up from Portsmouth the day before to stay in your grandmother's house near the centre of the city with the band, Paige and Martha, and had let her alcohol stash get the better of you. The group of you were now nursing headaches and fatigue, all sprawled out haphazardly around the room.
Paige was up at the window with you, the two of you mindlessly chatting about anything and everything that came to your minds, the sounds of groaning and shuffling background noise to you. You didn't know how long you'd been there; your hangover had completely taken over your perception of time. At some point, Paige stepped away to go and fetch another glass of water in hope of making her headache completely disappear, and you felt a hand brush your waist.
"Come with me to get food, love?"
You smiled and leaned back into your boyfriend's touch, his faint stubble brushing your cheek. You turned your head slightly, and whispered as your lips brushed his.
"Come on then, rockstar."
You both turned around and headed towards the door, muttering to the others to let them know where you were going - Eli had already asked what they wanted in the way of lunch, the group having unanimously decided on meal deals to make life easier.
You wandered down the long hallways of the venue, trying to navigate what could only be described as a maze, until you reached the slightly more discreet door that backed onto the quieter streets surrounding. Holding it open for you, Elijah followed after you as you left, taking your hand in his as you started the walk towards the nearest Sainsbury's while making sure not to be noticed by the masses queuing up.
"You excited for tonight?" You asked as you strolled down a road together, swaying your hands between you.
"Yeah, it should be class. Halloween shows have always been our favourites," he replied, looking down at you.
"You gonna tell me what you're dressing as yet?"
He laughed - the band had agreed not to tell you their costumes this year to keep it as a surprise. "Not yet. You'll have to wait and see. You'll have to help me with my eyeliner though-"
"Eyeliner?" You interrupted him.
"Yeah," he chuckled softly. "I think it'll make the costume better. More halloween-y."
You swallowed, the thought of your boyfriend in eyeliner making you a bit too giddy for a quick walk down the streets of London, "yeah, of course."
"Thanks, love," he spoke as he bumped your shoulder with his.
The two of you chatted between yourselves until you reached Sainsbury's, and you entered, grabbing a basket and handing it to Eli. You made your way to the meal deal aisle, and you began to pick up everybody's chosen items.
Once you had everything, you walked to the tills, scanning each product until Eli spoke up.
"You wrongun," he critiqued your food choice.
"Says the one with a cheese sandwich. You bore."
He reached over to pinch your side playfully, causing you to swat at his arm. An elderly couple walking past smiled to each other upon seeing the exchange, continuing down an aisle, talking quietly amongst themselves in memory of their own young adulthood.
As you finished scanning the items, you pulled out your card to pay, before you felt a hand push your arm away from the reader. You looked up in question.
Eli wordlessly tapped his own card against the machine, and picked up the two bags holding the array of sandwiches, snacks and drinks, heading towards the exit of the store. It was raining heavily at this point, so you lifted the hood of your coat before leaving the shop.
You linked your right arm with his left (he always insisted you walk on the inside of the pavement) as you started to make your way back to the venue. You reached your destination and noticed a vast decrease in the length of the queue, and you gave Eli a look to signify that maybe walking the perimeter of the Royal Albert Hall was a tired idea with your bags, and he nodded at you in response.
You walked closer to the main doors, the few fans left waiting immediately spotting the front man and jumping to their feet and pointing in shock. You heard a multitude of "ELI"s and "OH MY GOD"s, making you chuckle and continue your advance towards them.
"Eli, could we get a photo?" One girl excitedly voiced, her and her friends all seemingly starstruck at the sight of the man before them.
Elijah laughed fondly, and you grabbed the shopping bags from him as he went to stand with them.
"Do you guys want me to take it for you?" You asked the group as one raised their arm for a selfie, and she lowered it, smiling in your direction gratefully as you took the phone from her, telling them to smile as you took a photo.
You continued to take photos and chat with Eli and other fans for about twenty minutes, before you finally made your way inside and up towards the dressing room. Before you could reach it however, your boyfriend grabbed your arm and pulled you into him, wrapping his arms around your waist. You laughed into his shoulder before pulling away slightly, resting your hands on his shoulders and looking up at his face.
“What was that for?” You questioned, giggling slightly as you gazed at his features.
“Thank you for that. I know it can be tiring meeting fans sometimes.”
“Not at all! It’s nice meeting them. Just wish I could have you all to myself sometimes,” you revealed, quietening at the end of your sentence.
Elijah smiled softly and pressed a kiss to your forehead, a faint blush spreading across his cheeks at your words.
“I know, love, me too. We’ve got a break after this one, so you’ll have me every day.”
“Oh god, is that a threat?” You teased, leaning impossibly closer into his body.
He laughed again, pinching your side, just like he had back in Sainsbury’s. This had become a habit of his throughout childhood; his friendly teenage ways had not changed since getting into a relationship.
“I’m so proud of you, rockstar.”
“I’m so in love with you, beautiful.”
He kissed you then, softly and sweetly. You leaned into it, your hands moving to lock around the back of his neck, his snaking even further around your waist.
You stayed like that for a moment, letting the calm before the chaos that always ensued at a show swallow you whole.
The boys’ soundcheck started at 5, so you gathered at the barricade with Paige, Martha, and the members of both The Guest List and Scustin as they readied themselves. They started with Concrete, a less frequent appearance on the setlist and your personal favourite on the newest album, Elijah winking at you at every chance he got. They played It Won’t Always Be Like This, My Honest Face and My King Will Be Kind for another slower and technically different song.
You danced along with your friends down on the floor, before Bobby spoke up.
“Reader, we had a question.”
You looked up at him, nodding as you signified him to keep talking.
“Do you want to come on for a song? You can choose what you’d want to do,” he urged.
Your eyes widened - you had never been on stage with the boys for a song before, so you were naturally nervous, but also intrigued.
“Sure?” You accepted, “why today of all days?”
“I don’t know, it just feels more special, you know?”
You laughed, “yeah, I guess so. Could I do—“
Elijah cut you off. “Totally.”
You shook your head in amusement. Of course he knew. Totally had been your favourite of the band’s songs since it came out, and you had often expressed the desire to sing it with him one day.
“What he said!”
“Sure!” Bobby replied, “come on up then.”
You passed the barrier and jumped onto the stage, where a member of the crew handed you a spare mic. You spoke into it to test it was on, and the boys began to play.
Paige had her camera on her and took it upon herself to snap some shots of you up with the boys sound-checking the song, the photos later showing you prancing around the stage like it was exactly where you belonged.
When it came to the bridge, you held your mic away from your mouth, and stood with your boyfriend as you harmonised his vocals through his own microphone, the two of you laughing together as your heads occasionally bumped while trying to fit together by the small machine without his guitar sending you flying across the pit.
Everyone watched you fondly, the both of you fully in your element.
The song ended, and Eli wrapped his left arm around your shoulder, squeezing you tight while leaving a kiss at your temple.
“That was perfect.”
You grinned, still running on adrenaline from your high, jumping back down towards your friends.
Tom, one of the guitarists of The Guest List, who was standing near you, complimented: “your voice is unreal!”
“Aw, thanks, Tom! I’m so excited for your set tonight, you’ll smash it like always!”
He smiled and thanked you, and you and the girls wandered back towards the never-ending hallways of the venue in search of a sit down to glance over Paige’s photos.
You found yourselves back in the dressing room, and you marvelled at the pictures for a quarter of an hour until the boys came bustling through the door, Eli making a beeline to you and plopping down to you, his hand instantly coming to rest at your thigh.
He leaned his head into your shoulder, exhaling and closing his eyes for a moment of rest—
“Music, anyone?”
A chorus of “Christ, Bobby”s echoed around the room, and Eli sighed into your touch.
Bobby, however, didn’t wait for an answer, and instead turned on the speaker at almost full volume before he sat down next to Martha, drumming along his thighs with his fingers to the beat of the song.
It suddenly dawned on you that in order to be ready for the show, and to help Eli with his eyeliner, you should have started getting ready long ago. Luckily, you had pinned your hair into rollers before soundcheck, so it was just your outfit and makeup left to do.
You patted Eli’s thigh and stood up, reminding the girls of the time, and the three of you made your way to the nearest bathroom with your stuff.
You finished pinning your last lock of hair just as the final call for Scustin to ascend the stage came over the speakers, and you sighed into relief at the realisation that you would hopefully not miss too much of their set.
You pushed open the door and made your way back to the dressing room, where it seemed the boys were finished getting ready.
You gasped as you entered, the sight of masks on faces stopping you in your tracks.
“Are you joking? Phantom?”
The Phantom of the Opera had been your favourite musical from a young age. The significance of it and the Royal Albert Hall had completely slipped your mind, so you couldn’t help but be shocked upon entering to find five boys dressed as if they were in it.
Elijah smiled at you, “worth waiting for?”
“Yes, oh my god!”
They all chuckled at your excitement, and your boyfriend spoke again, “you still on to do my eyeliner?”
“Yep! Let me grab it.”
The rest of the party took that as their cue to leave to watch their first support’s set, and as the door closed behind them, Eli sat down, legs slightly parted, on the plush sofa.
Once you had found your eyeliner, you made your way to sit next to him, one leg slightly resting on his as you started on his eyes. You had always had a thing for guys wearing eyeliner, and it had been so long since you’d seen Eli wearing it, so you were understandably excited.
You were finding it increasingly difficult to do the makeup neatly, so you moved to straddle his thighs, the new position giving you a much better angle giving for a much improved outcome.
Eli’s hands came to rest at your hips while you worked, occasionally squeezing at them and muttering a “fuck” as the pencil came too close to his actual eye.
“Stop making me laugh, I’ll fuck it up!”
“Stop poking me then, gobshite.”
“God, you’re such a princess. There, I’m done.”
You pulled back and untucked your bottom lip from your teeth (a habit you found yourself doing while focusing), your hands coming up to rest on his cheeks as you admired your work.
You grabbed your phone and snapped a few photos at the man beneath you, his beauty still managing to stun you after so many years of being with him.
“How do I look?” He enquired.
“Like shit.”
“That’s nice.”
“You look gorgeous.” You said sincerely, going to move off your boyfriend’s lap. He, however, kept a firm hold on your hips.
“Oi. We need to catch Scustin’s last few songs.”
“I know. We can stay a while. All I can think about is you on top of me toni—“
You giggled and slapped your hand over his mouth.
“None of that, you.”
He bent his head down to leave a trail of kisses along your neck and shoulder.
“I haven’t told you how unreal you look right now. Roxie Hart? Are you trying to kill me?” He breathed along your shoulder.
You moved your hand to the back of his head, scratching at his scalp and lightly pulling on his dark locks. He let a shaky breath out against your skin, pulling away just to latch his lips against yours, his hands moving down to palm at your arse, causing you to arch your back slightly into his body.
He slid his tongue forward, past your lips and you let out a small breath into his mouth, his teeth nipping your bottom lip slightly, making you pull away briefly.
“I love you.”
“I love you more.” He leaned back into you, and you almost gave into him until you remembered that there was an actual show taking place just downstairs.
“Eli,” you mumbled against his lips.
“What?”
“Scustin.”
He sighed into your parted lips, “fuck.”
He squeezed your arse as you went to stand up, following suit when you made your way out the door and down towards the backstage area.
The show was electric.
It was such a beautiful sight to see so many different costumes singing (or screaming, you knew how Inhaler fans were) back into your friends’ faces. You stood with Gary backstage, waiting for your cue to take to the stage nervously.
The final chords of Eddie In The Darkness played, and you glanced at the setlist to make sure your cue was actually coming next. It was.
“You all look amazing. This next one’s an old one. Would you all mind if we brought someone out for this one?”
The screams were deafening.
You took a deep breath and stepped onto the stage, the crowd growing ten times louder as they saw who the guest was. You smiled and waved, tapping on your microphone to check it was on.
“Totally.” Elijah simply announced as Ryan began on the drums.
The song went perfectly. You briefly abandoned your mic to sing into your boyfriend’s with him, just as you had rehearsed in soundcheck, the sea of fans shouting the lyrics back to you. It truly warmed your heart.
As the song finished up, Eli grabbed your arm and spun you into him, pressing a short kiss to your mouth, as the crowd went crazy once again, a mass of phones capturing the intimate moment.
You laughed against his lips, pulling away to wave goodbye to the fans, bounding off with a spring in your step and a newfound warmth in your heart.
The boys continued on with their set, you having sat in your seat with Paige and Martha for the rest of the duration of the show. During their final song, My Honest Face, you made your way back to the side of the stage, just in time to see your boyfriend running towards you.
Elijah headed straight to you, his arms snaking around your frame and pulling you against him. Your arms wrapped around his shoulders, breathing in his scent and relaxing into it.
You stayed like that for a beat, completely lost as the world around you kept on moving. It was your own little world. You moved your face away slightly to cup his jaw with one hand, and moved to press your mouth to his once again.
You pulled back, only to whisper, “you were fucking insane, rockstar.”
“I know.”
You slapped his arm fondly, narrowing your eyes at him before pulling him back in.
He spoke, “so what about slagging off the night out and going back home…” he trailed off, gazing at you hopefully.
“After that show we might just have to.”
He grinned, finally pulling his body from yours but taking your hand in his, already walking towards the dressing room to collect your stuff.
“Hey, we’re both a bit tired. Might have to cancel on going out,” you revealed to the group, not wanting to just leave without a word.
“They’re going home to shag,” Bobby spoke matter-of-factly.
You opened your mouth to deny, but your boyfriend got there first: “yeah! Bye-bye now.”
You rolled your eyes but giggled despite yourself as you let Eli pull you off in the direction of the stairwell.
