“You’re scared of roller coasters, Mayuzumi-senpai?”
“I am not,” Mayuzumi declares, as his hands shake traitorously on the handrail. Hayama nods in a wholly unconvinced way before switching to annoy Mibuchi instead. They are at the front of the line for Thunder Mountain, waiting for the cleanup crew to finish checking the car. Someone is crying.
He stares at the seats and twitches.
Nebuya had opted out of this ride (they didn’t accuse him of being scared, Mayuzumi thinks bitterly) for some specialty restaurant he’d spotted nearby. And so, before he could misdirection himself away from the line, he finds himself being half-pushed towards the empty seats in the back. Mibuchi slides into one of the middle seats as Hayama follows him, gesturing animatedly at the lights above.
Akashi sits down next to Mayuzumi, looking all too happy to be in a moving death contraption.
…Of course he would get the seat next to Akashi.

I wrote “Eliška” on my nametag at BIDA last night.
I also remembered to introduce myself that way when newbies asked my name.
A couple of the regulars asked me how to pronounce it, not being familiar with Czech orthography, but literally nobody gave me shit about it. (possibly partially because I’ve had it as part of my facebook name for almost a year now, so a lot of people are used to it)
sooooooooo yeah this is a thing; I’m going to be doing this more often, making a concerted effort to introduce myself this way and use this name more.
That said - if you’re happy calling me Elizabeth, please continue to do so! I generally still default to introducing myself that way, especially at work, and it’s definitely a name that I hear and identify as referring to me, so if you’re happy there, I’m happy too.
but if you want to switch, this is the name that feels like me lately, that reflects the casual intimacy and informality of friendship in the same way that Liz once did, so many years gone.
(it helps that I have so many loved ones who use this name for me, who reinforce the validity of my choice and who solidify the wonderfully positive associations I have with it)
