as i've been thinking about my trainer, one of the Bits/HCs me and the husband have been laughing about is gym/elite names. i cannot find any official canon on this so:

our firm belief is that high ranking trainers operate under a big guild/union like the SAG, where there can only be One Person using a unique name. so you have trainers who've been active for a long time, they're more likely to be operating under their real legal name [like larry or honestly most of kanto, The First League].

the more leagues started and more names got taken, people started swapping to callsigns/stage names, which is why so many are type-based puns. everyone figured well, if i Must make a unique name, better run with it and have fun!

i also believe theres at least a couple indecisive trainers who either have changed callsigns a couple times, or swap between a couple of them by mood and are believed to be different people [presumed siblings probably??]

i think pokeverse wikipedia would list them by league callsigns without real name on there out of respect, or else the swappytrainers would be busted fast.

honestly what level of pokemon gym leader would you be (early, mid late, eliet 4 sort of thing) and what would the team be. just bored and need other people to feed into my brainrot

I have watched an MandJTV video about the existing Gym Leaders specialising in 2 types sometime last year, so I thought to myself, why not have the Gym Leaders in the Yindi region (my fan made regional based in my home state of Queensland) and that every single one of them specialises in dual types.

I want to do this because it would be interesting plus it will be a nice change to the usual monotype gyms they normally do.

But a part of me thinks I should do Gym Leaders basing their specialities on a particular theme instead of dual-types and a particular type in general.

For the Elite 4, I'm stuck in between doing a dual-typed speciality like for the gyms or if I should base their specialities on the types of habitats each Pokemon live in (plains, desert, rainforest, coral reefs, etc).

I'm trying to decide what would be better overall, to do dual-type specialities for both the Gym Leaders and Elite 4, dual-type specialities for the gym Leaders and theme specialities for the Elite 4 or theme specialities for both the Gym Leaders and the Elite 4?

Dual-type Gyms (in order from the first gym leader to the final gym leader):

Normal/Flying, Ice/Dragon, Water/Poison, Ghost/Dark, Electric/Psychic, Bug/Water, Grass/Fairy and Ground/Rock

Dual-type Elite 4 (from 1st to 4th in order):

Fighting/Steel, Grass/Fire, Dark/Poison and Water/Fairy

Theme Specialities Gym Leaders (from first to last):

Bird conservationist, baker with a sweet tooth, Pokemon that are obtainable in captivity, Pokemon that can be kept as pets or cat themed gym, music, artist, construction worker and mythology and fantasy

Theme Specialities Elite 4 (1st to 4th):

Pokemon that live in plains, Pokemon that live in tropical rainforests, Pokemon that live in deserts and Pokemon that live in beaches and coral reefs.

Okay so I’m probably going to sound insane but I’ve been looking for this Reddit post that also linked a twitter post of a comic about Uzu Sanageyama and all of the elite 4 (plus satsuki I’m pretty sure) and they were putting konnyaku on his chest. And the artist (Sushio) had drawn it since someone made a mousepad of Uzu with konnyaku as his “breast”.. and I had found it reddit but now I can’t find it at all.. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT?? IVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THESE POSTS FOR AWHILE NOW.. if anyone knows what I’m talking about PLEASE let me know omg!! 😞

I like that Nintendo actually put effort into the elite 4 in the dlc

First of all, Lacey’s prismarina has hyper voice. Why is that so lethal? Number 1, it’s a spread move, meaning it hits both opponents so it gets chip damage on both of your pokemon

but what makes it so lethal is that it has throat spray which is activated by sound based moves which gives prismarina, a special attacker, a boost to that stat, making it way more dangerous

also her Pokemon have some considerably good coverage I’ll say. With her slowbro having steel coverage with flame thrower

but back to what we’re saying, she starts out with a whimsicott, a great support Pokemon, that sets up light screen and tailwind.

her grand bull also has intimidate, which is considered one of the best abilities competitively, it lowers BOTH enemies attack stats every time it switches in…it’s way more lethal than you may think.

Don’t even get me STARTED with the rest of the elite 4. I need to do more research but the dragon type guy has a flygon with fucking life orb

And to my knowledge amarys’s skyarmory has rocky helmet too!!! wtf?!

As you can see I love competitive Pokemon…
