I was reminded today that clip studio has an animation section that I've never played with so while I was waiting on meds to kick in I decided to test it on the lineart of Corb. Unsure if I'll be doing this again but it was fun.

Met On Pasio / TeamAcidburn AU, because i am playing too much pokemon masters ex and desperately want the boys to drop soon

Things that are acidburnAU canon: -Grisham wouldn't have left the truck with Griselle willingly to go to the island for however long, he was an early Ring Abductee -Corbeau jumped at the chance to go, Phillipe can handle the syndicate. -Shads-short-for-Nightshade is from a weird league [Maritime] and a poison trainer / one of two champs. They're a ring abductee but they woulda gone anyways.

-during the team flare days, Grisham and Griselle's parents had them in an arranged marriage for the good of team flare. they were each others' firsts, but she was more into girls and the arrangement didnt really last after The Whole Ultimate Weapon Incident and everyone who arranged it and had expectations of them dying 🙃 -Grish and Corb have had a Thing for a few years that's basically a friends with bennies sitch they don't really talk about, just occasionally meet up. Pre-ZA they were both too caught up in their shit to be in a good place for anything more than that.

-Shads and Grish met on the island early on and ended up being roomies due to both needing a fireproof house and both speaking Kalosian [this is honestly mainly an excuse for me to practise french conversations in my head] [[Maritime League counts as a subsection of the gov so higher ranking trainers are expected to be bilingual]] -they did not stay Just Roomies long -corbeau shows up about a week later and things Get More Interesting

-since pasio has people getting legendaries they have Complex Feelings about, Grish ends up bonding with a shiny zygarde there. Shads ends up with a yveltal, and Corbeau xerneas. Grish is NOT HAPPY to initially see that friggin yveltal again! -Jacinthe is also here because I think it would be hilarious for her to see Corbeau get a fairy legendary and be DELIGHTED and So Eager to teach him about fairy type care and he is seething about it.

-leagues work like a cross between the SAG [that bigger post] and professional wrestling, everyones name is unique, and the more names/costumes lean into the Bit the more likely they are to not break kayfabe. its also accepted that if you recognize someone out of leaguesona, No You Didnt, Be Cool. -there is a league-run Cameo type site -its common to have a reaction sticker set of your team

-Shads' [canon only] team is Sassy, Brick Shithouse the nidoking, Roast Beefs the lowkey toxtricity, Jellybean the shiny scolipede, Jimmy Juicearse the gengar, and Squarrrt the dragalge. If I'm feeling a little less canon-only, they also have Sarah the barrens-form victreebell [this is a joke re a local song + sarracenia], and Burnout the barrens-form revavoom/skidoom [ice/poison] and swap who to use for dif fights. -Their leaguesona is a little dramatic cartoon villainess and trade off being the Acting Champ with Her Nemesis with cheesy takeover / defeat the villain plots, with whom they meet for drinks regularly to go over their schedules and think of the next plotlines. -They also dress femme and makeup'd and use she/her in leaguesona while being androgynous with glasses outside of it. clark kent behaviors. -They have salazzle markings tattood on but that's never shown on-camera -They got ring abducted because they'd be more entertaining on pasio than the other guy and Lear didn't want to gamble on who had time off.

Corbeau reminded me of someone and I couldn't quite place who but it just hit me.

He reminds me of Tatsu from Way of the House Husband. They're both intimidating yakuza men with a surprising soft side.

I'm not familiar with that manga/anime, but I looked it up and totally see the similarities.

A silly little Grisham x Reader meet cute based on the idea that some phones are sentient beings I guess. Wild.

You weren’t denying it, you had a crush on the barista at the Cafe Nouveau truck near your office. It had started out as a passing fancy, a brief admiration of his handsome face and serene demeanour. But, as you became a regular at the truck, that passing fancy very quickly sparked into a crush. There was something about him that had caught your eye and you still weren’t quite sure what it was, was it the way each drink had care and attention poured into it? Or the way that he always politely smiled when you approached, the way he began to ask of your day, follow up questions about trips you had mentioned taking, secretly saving your favorite pastry when their supply began to run low?

Maybe it was a crush born out of aesthetics, but really, you were pretty sure you were falling for his personality. Or what he could show of it while he was working. It was entirely possible even that his behavior at work was simply good customer service, though that would be denying the way his face would definitely light up when you came into view. Yet there was still that seed of doubt, was the kind and charming barista really Grisham? You’d been wanting to find that out for some time. Just a date or two, test the waters, see if he was really someone you could see yourself with for the long term. But the last thing you wanted to do was ask him while he was working, that wouldn’t be fair! And if he denied you? Talk about awkward…

You leaned back in your desk chair, nursing your usual drink. Grisham had really dialed it in today, it was the perfect temperature and balance of flavors that made you visibly relax as the warmth washed through out. Your co-worker at the next desk looked up, a playful expression on her face as she studied you revelling in a moment of bliss.

“Is he at least cute?”

“Oh, really cute.” You confirmed, “He’s the barista with the white streaks in his hair- the young one.”

You watched your coworker try to bring Grisham’s face up, and when it dawned on her she grinned, “He is pretty good looking- thinking you’ll ask him out soon?”

You’d mentioned Grisham a handful of times to your coworker, simple office banter and what-ifs that eased away the mind-numbing filing tasks you were both typically swamped with. She had taken quite an interest in your romantic life, peppering you with ideas of dates and ways you could ask Grisham out.

“I should ask when his shift ends, really don’t want to ask him while he’s working.”

“Mm, that’s fair. But I hope it goes well- sounds like the two of you would make a good couple!”

You turned back to your work, a grin on your face. Hopefully soon you could work up the courage to give him your number.

Little did you know it would be a lot sooner than you were expecting.

The truck was experiencing a lull by the time you got to it the next morning, all smiles at seeing Grisham at his usual spot behind the counter. He started to say the usual, warm greeting that he would always give you- except this time your rotomphone flew out of your pocket, coming to a sudden halt before Grisham. It hovered, angling itself as if observing Grisham. Mortified, you watched the screen of your phone flash green and turn itself towards Grisham.

He blinked, setting down your usual drink as he regarded your phone screen.

“Oh! You want my number!” He gasped, a genuine grin on his face. He reached up and cradled your phone, an amused note leaving him as he typed his number into your phone.

Your heart hammered in your chest, your face beyond burning hot, was this really happening?

Grisham returned your phone to you as well as handing you your drink, adding a charming “On the house.” that made your heart skip a beat.

With shaking hands you took back your phone, glancing at the screen.

It had saved him as “100%, He is Cute”.

Your face somehow felt even hotter.

“You think I’m cute?” Grisham leaned against the counter, a coy smile having settled on his face.

You slowly nodded, tongue tied. You were certain everyone could hear your heartbeat.

“I’m glad the feeling is mutual.” Grisham noted, “I was about to give you my number anyways.”

He held up a napkin he’d been writing on before you had appeared, in as neat penmanship as he could manage was his number with a small note: Im off at 6- dinner?

“S-sure- absolutely. Yes. Yes!” You stumbled over your words, finally managing a clear answer. You clutched your phone tightly, a little thankful, a little horrified at how your phone of all things had scored you a date.
