Thats a pretty bold statement from the makers of the Elite Pro 2. Lets see if Turtle Beach can back that up.

Lets start off with the single most important function of a high-end headset, the audio quality and reproduction.

Audio

From the first moment of use the headset was just incredible. Combined with the Superamp™ this headset is absolutely sublime. The audio control and precision can be appreciated by even the most basic user, no need to be an audiophile to enjoy it. Crisp clear mid range accompanied by powerful bass, what more could you want. 10/10 for the audio quality.

Comfort and ease of use

This is where the Elite Pro 2 falls a little short. The setup is rather complicated and before switching between PC and Xbox, the headset has to be configured via the Turtle Beach Windows app. Once it is set to be used on the Xbox One its fairly simple, plug it into a spare USB port and you’re ready to rock.

The Elite Pro 2 also has something they call the Prospecs™ Glasses Relief System. For some or other reason I could never get it to match my glasses comfortably and I was forever adjusting them to fit.

Another downside is the weight, these bad boys are heavy. Understandably so with its 50mm over ear speakers, not a deal breaker, but worth noting.

The USB cable connecting the Proamp™ to the console is more that long enough, but this also leads to a lot of spare cable that might be difficult to manage for some users.

Connectivity

The Elite Pro 2 can connect via USB(for console use) and via Bluetooth. Users also have to option of bypassing the Proamp™ by connecting the supplied 3.5mm audio cable directly to a preferred device.

The microphone is fully detachable, this makes the headset clutter free, but the boom can be rotated away from the face without needing to disconnect it.

Look and feel

The Elite Pro 2 feels and looks like a high-end headset. The Xbox One version being white. The magnetic speaker plates are removable, so customization options are available. The headband is moderately comfortable considering the weight of the headset. The Proamp™ control unit lights up in various colours depending on the connection and the volume level is indicated by a sliding LED strip surrounding the volume rotary button.

Value for money

Eh, this is a subjective one. For some gamers it might seem reasonable, but be warned, they are quite pricey.

So in conclusion, the Elite Pro 2 is a great headset. I found it quite uncomfortable after a long gaming session, but that might be because of my stupid head and the fact that I wear glasses. They are expensive for a wired setup, but if you demand audio precision you have to pay the piper.
