Nicki Macfarlane, a luxury children’s clothing designer, handmade the four bridesmaids outfits in her home, with the help of her daughter, Charlotte. Like the main bridal gown, the dresses were made of satin and had buttons of gazar and organza down the back. The dresses were finished with Cluny lace, a bobbin style lace worked as a continous piece, made in England. Each dress had a full, box-pleated skirt.
The four bridesmaids accessorised with ivy and lily-of-the-valley headpieces. These were inspired by the headdress Carole, Catherine’s mother, wore to her wedding to Michael Middleton, Catherine’s father. Similarly, their bouquets (made by Shane Connolly, who works at the same company as Derek Connolly, who made Catherine’s bouquet) replicated the flowers in the main bouquet: lily-of-the-valley, sweet William, and hyacinth, merely lacking the sprig of myrtle. Rainbow Club, a wedding shoe brand, designed the Mary Jane shoes worn by the bridesmaids, which were accessoried with Swarovksi crystal buckles.
Kashket and Partners - a company that designs and creates military uniforms - was responsible for the creation of the red outfits worn by the page boys. Similar to William’s Irish Guards uniform, the page boy outfits had insignia from the Irish Guards and Irish shamrocks on the collars. The jacket was red with gold piping, and the boys also wore a gold and crimson sash around their waists. The outfits were in the style of “a Foot Guard officer at the time of the Regency”.
