“While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (The Beatles): C e d r i c * D i g g o r y. with a side of Cedric/Cho/Harry (also Cedric/Harry and Cedric/Cho), Cedric/Fleur/Viktor, and Cedric/Zacharias. and oh yeah did I mention Cedric Diggory he’s important.
“Point of No Return/Down Once More” (Phantom of the Opera; original Canadian cast): …this one’s kind of cheating; I put it on a Peter/Stiles mix once and that’s still the place I go to first but I could also see it working for Nogitsune/Stiles (just… Nogitsustiles doesn’t really get on well with Andrew Lloyd Webber in my head? like, their sound is more…… Nine Inch Nails, Judas Priest, pretty much any of the darker songs that they’d play at a Hot Topic, Siouxsie and the Banshees; basically, they’re dark and gritty while Steter’s musical feel for me is dark and foreboding and melodramatic).
“Wicked Little Town” (John Cameron Mitchell; Hedwig and the Angry Inch): …………I used to be a theatre kid okay I have a lot of musical theatre stuff on my ipod. and… I’m torn on this one because I put it on a Scisaac mix once and definitely still go there, but I also like it for Camsaac, Draeden, Camden/Scott, Allira, and Kira/Scott. oh, and a few Hunger Games ships: Annie/Finnick/Johanna/Katniss (and all of the sub-ships here), Annie/Mrs Everdeen, Finnick/Peeta (and Finnick/Katniss/Peeta, but it’s not really working for Everlark or Everdair for me here, sadly).
“Holiday” (Green Day): …Cam/Derek, and Braeden/Cam/Derek, and um. all I have to say for myself is that, as soon as I realized that Cam and Derek would’ve been in high school when American Idiot first came out, I started making up headcanons about the pair of them (plus or minus various members of the swim team and Paige, because she’s not dead because fuck Jeff Davis, that’s why) and Green Day and sneaking off to a Green Day concert and uh.this isn’t actually related to the song anymore but… Cam, Derek, the swim team, and Paige were all also in high school when the “scene look” was the big thing (and if we estimate that Braeden is about the same age, then so was she) and I submit for your consideration: actual scene kid Derek Hale. (ﾉ▰˘∀˘▰)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
Y: What are your secondhand fandoms (fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)
uh, the MCU, which I keep intending to get around to eventually but tbh, at this point, I really like my secondhand version of it where CA:TWS is all gonna be this cute OT3 romcom with Sam, Steve, and Natasha, but then OH NO, Bucky shows up and he’s been brainwashed by super-Nazis and THERE IS SADNESS. THERE ARE FEELS. ALL OF THE FEELINGS.
……and then something or other happens and we transition into a happy (more or less) superhero ot4 and they adopt two kitties, a puppy, three ferrets, two guinea pigs, and a monitor lizard. also Bucky has a robotic arm and there are disability feels going on or something along with some trenchant sociopolitical commentary about USAmerican imperialism, and Steve is bisexual and this is very very very very important and the fandom is going to insist on how Steve is bi until Marvel caves in and goes, “fine whatever he’s bi now.”
aside from that…… pretty much every anime that’s ever on my dash that isn’t Sailor Moon, NGE, Madoka Magica, Utena, or the various CLAMP series. this usually tends to mean something called “Free,” which I very definitely remember originally just being called, “Swimming Anime” and I don’t have the first clue about what is going on with it aside from pretty anime boys swimming
but I do know that there is a character named Makoto and he is endlessly frustrating for me because every. single. freaking. time. a post about him shows up on my dash, I stop and read it and then go “wait what” because uh… “Makoto,” to me? is Sailor Jupiter. so I’m over here, thinking that I’m going to get a post about my badass floral lightning princess… and then it is actually about some anime boy who swims apparently or something
