on tuesday 11/5 i decided on an origin for the maze (The Hedges). this has allowed me to move forward more confidently with my outline and understand the dynamic of the town better. i wrote for my outline yesterday and am continuing to do so in class today. i'm about almost 3/4ths through. when i get stumped with writing i switch to character design and when i get stumped with character design i go back to my outline ヾ( `ー´)シφ__

unfortunately i was not in class last week, but the week before i started reworking my story with lots of help from kyla who did most of the writing while i answered his questions about my story.

i felt my first go at story beats was too rigid and serious for what i intended for this film. it was good to get a second perspective on my story and figure out some details which i had been avoiding writing.

the week before presenting it was very helpful talking to writers to help me figure out my story beats. this is the earliest i've ever had my story set while making a film (the bar was set very low) (i figured out the ending of my sophomore film 2 weeks before it was due). in class i continued character design exploration for my main character psyche.

my initial plan for fall break was to work on character sheets, but some technical difficulties led me to postponing that task and swapped it for thumbnailing storyboards. i'm currently working on thumbnails for the introduction and trying not to get too wrapped up in making it right or finalized.

i will continue with thumbnailing in class today. once i get stressed and tired of it i plan on switching my attention to character design. once i can get a PEN.
