Dear Gus & Magnus,
We celebrated Easter today by hunting a few eggs at our house -- Derek, Mom, and I hid them late last night -- then lunch at Nana's. Aunt Connie organized a photo of Nana with all her great-grandchildren (minus Lincoln). Then we went to YP's for lamb. A long day, but a good one.

Dear Gus & Magnus,
I took you Martin's house for his birthday party this afternoon -- Mags was excited to see his PreK friend Evan there -- and then we grabbed Mom and her fruit salad from our house before heading to Beebe for a cookout on the Compound. Gus got to play the role of the oldest cousin, which I think he enjoyed.
It was good to sit around Nana's table with everyone.

Dear Gus & Magnus,
The Choate Boys hit the annual Midland Hills Fourth of July parade with a couple of scooters -- me pushing Mags on his for most of the way until my back couldn't take anymore -- and we stayed to the end, with you two playing on the playground with your friends.
We went home to regroup with Mom before heading to Nana's house for the family celebration, which is the next evolution of our usual celebration at the Darwins' -- they recently sold their house. We played in the collection of kiddie pools, Missy & I won the pickleball tournament, we ate lots, Magnus burned his finger when he reached up and touched his recently extinguished sparkler, and you two got lots of playing time with your cousins.

Dear Gus & Magnus,
A couple of nights ago a thunderstorm brought with it some strong winds that knocked down a tree in Nana's front yard, so today we had a workday to get it cleaned up. It felt good to work together with Walt, Pam, Sarah, and Zac (and JT, who works with Walt some) to accomplish a mission on the family compound, and I loved seeing you two enjoying yourselves around people who matter to me. I was also proud that you both innately understood what we were doing and what you could do to help -- you both picked up lots of sticks.
Afterward, we had lunch with the Nicks at Nene's house. They went home, but we spent the rest of the day. Gus was disappointed that we missed the Hillcrest Pumpkin Roll, so we took our pumpkin to Beebe and had our own pumpkin roll.

Dear Gus & Magnus,
Mom worked today, so we loaded up and went to Beebe. After a good morning at Nene's we all went down to Walt & Pam's for dinner and to watch college football. Magnus and Ellis had a good time playing together. Right before we left, Kyle and Mason showed up. I felt bad about pulling Gus away from Mason when they were having fun, so when he asked if he could stay with Nene, I said he could.
A good day.
