I pretty much gave up mountain biking in February, 2018, when my financial situation forced me to take on a second job. My resting heart rate was around 56bpm, and it steadily rose until the coronavirus lockdown afforded me the the free time to get back on the trails. Since then, my resting heart rate has steadily decreased, and now it’s where it was before I started bartending. I’ve only been averaging one ride per week, normally between 10-20 miles. That one workout has had extraordinarily health benefits, and I’m looking forward to seeing what adding in two or so rides on my new Wahoo KICKR from the comfort of my living room do for my cycling and overall fitness level.
