Arlathan had changed more than he could ever have imagined. The city, the towers, every last building was gone - and nothing but ruins were left, ruins that could hardly be distinguished from the rocks that interspersed the mighty trees. This was not the forest he had known - not a single branch, not a single root was left from the time of Elvhenan, and only the rocks and ruins bore witness to what had once been the greatest civilization in existence.
He could not even grasp how a place he had roamed just weeks ago had been able to change so much. Yes, millennia had passed, and he knew that, but knowing and understanding were two vastly different things. He did not even dare to enter the Fade in this place - he did not know if he would be able to bear seeing the memories that dwelt in this place.
And yet there was something that still seemed to be the same - something that lingered, something that greeted him, that welcomed him home while he walked over the thick humus, through tousled undergrowth, around roots that were thick enough to build little houses beneath them. He still felt at home, in a distant, strange, nearly disconcerting way. This was still Arlathan. Just... not the Arlathan he had known.

Safety. He is not a very independent person, he needs company and someone to rely on and to follow. When he loves someone that means he trusts that person to stand by his side, and he trusts them to do what's right so he can follow, and just being with them means safety.
☾- Are they prone to nightmares or dreamless sleep?
Nightmares occur, especially if he is restless and has little else to occupy his mind. He has more of a tendency to go for a long time without sleep, until he is tired enough to sleep without dreaming.
☼ - Something that/Someone who makes them happy.
The scouts that are under his command. They are most of them rather young like he is, daring, brave and extremely devouted to their cause, and they have seen through so much together that they know almost everything there is to know about one another. They share a lot of trust and a lot of pain and because Legolas is as he is, they do everything together, make decisions together (though he has the last word, of course) and are very much on the same level.
