My current embroidery project is a "sampler," mandala style, inspired by some mandala sampler videos on YouTube from @gettheetothestitchery. Her videos of embroidery stitches are clear and easy to follow. Also, I live that she includes videos of her learning new things, including other crafts, such as macrame. Image 1: The b Beginning. Having outlined a circle and sectioned it off using a water-based removable pen-like device, I created a hexagonal outline. This was inspired by @gettheetothestitchery 's Crow's Foot Gone Rogue video. Image 2: Decorative Finial To spice up my hexagonal border, I added strange little bits of embroidery I'm calling finials. I'm not thrilled with how they all turned out, so I may replace them later, but for the moment they're staying. Note: This tiny amount of embroidery, on top of the dragonfly, had my back under my right shoulder so knotted up, I had to take a break of several days. Image 3: Top of First Leaf I'm putting a flower in the middle. So, of course, we start with the leaves. I took another day off after this tiny bit for the same reason.
