Close ups from my FIRST embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework! We had to embroider a GIANT stitch sampler that was designed by an embroiderer in the year above. Second pic shows my first attempt of long and short stitch.Happy times for me, it was the first time I had stitched on or heard of a slate frame and had to learn to stitch with two hands. Loved every minute. In amongst some of the things I got from my grandmas house, I saw a simple floral embroidery (right) and decided to put my own spin on it. I first made the floral parts out of my grandmas thread stash because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it yet and then expanded from there. I then decided to put a quote in the middle as it looked a bit bare and decided on this quote because it has a story behind it for me. What do you think? Not too shabby for a go at freestyle embroidery!
