Emerald Evans ✤ Lightning Strikes

Emerald Evans would have once called herself perfectly normal, thank you very much.  Raised by her Aunt Mary in Little Whinging, happy if a little bit lonely, her life was entirely average.  Or so she thought, until a scrawny boy named Harry, with a funny scar and the same eyes as hers, walked into her classroom on the first day of primary school, and everything changed.  More and more often she was noticing things that were decidedly not normal — Aunt Mary holding something that had been across the room only moments before, ending up on a roof with no memory of moving, snakes that sounded more like whispers than hissing.  Little things and no so little things all piling up into one overwhelming, unsolvable puzzle, building and building right up to her eleventh birthday, when an owl flew into her window holding an envelope, of all things.

Is it okay to ask more about your OC Emerald Evans? Posts on her are very intriguing. Is her story posted yet? Do you have cool head canons about her that you can share?

It’s absolutely okay!!! I don’t talk about Emerald often but there’s definitely a soft spot in my heart for her, I’ve had some variation of her for more than half of my life now!

Her story isn’t posted but I definitely have headcanons! Emerald has the same saving people thing as Harry - which makes them an absolute disaster of a duo jfc - but where Harry wants to save everyone always, Em will sacrifice pretty much anyone to save the people she loves. She adores potions as a subject but absolutely despises Snape, she’s horrible at Herbology, and she’s pretty much the only person who actually likes history of magic. She loves muggle books and film and she and Hermione bond over books! She’s often told that she’s the spitting image of her mother and with the personality to boot (she’s actually a pretty solid mix of her parents’ personalities but she tends to be polite and respectful to adults unless given reason not to be). She loves going to shows on The West End with her mom, she prefers riding a bike to riding a broom, and she uses muggle swears way too often!

You always come through with the best asks!  So this OC is actually an idea that I had at age 12 and only remembered today while trying to think of an OC for you so this will be an adventure for me but I hope you like her!

Summary:  Emerald Evans was proud to say that she was perfectly normal, thank you very much.  Raised by her aunt Mary MacDonald in Little Whinging, attending public school, a bit of a loner, everything was normal.  Maybe sometimes she saw her aunt holding something that had been across the room only moments before, maybe sometimes she found herself on the roof with no memory of moving, and maybe sometimes she thought she heard snakes speak to her, but she was perfectly normal.  Or so she thought, until a scrawny boy named Harry, with a funny scar and the exact same eyes as hers, walked into her classroom on the first day of primary school.  Ever since, her life has been becoming less and less normal until one day an owl flies into her window holding an envelope of all things.
