An attempt to rob some girl in a cloak ended with Emerald being mistaken for her girlfriend. It took some convincing, but receiving unusually tender sex convinced Emerald to give Ruby a shot.

Emerald hesitated for a moment as she tried to process everything that brought her to this point, watching as Ruby stripped in front of her, face heating up as a blush spread across her cheeks. It all had started as a simple job, bumping into Ruby to steal her wallet and scroll for a quick buck. Instead, she found herself being brought back to the huntress’ apartment after being mistaken for her girlfriend and she couldnt find it in her to say no. 

“I know I dont have much, but I hope I can make the night worth your while,” Ruby said as she pulled off her top, stretching a bit as she smiled at Emerald. “Though, you dont have to go through with this.” 

“I… I need to do this,” Emerald said as she looked away, trying to hide her blush. “Its either this or jail, right? You caught me, and if your team found out what I was really doing-” 

“And you dont need to make it sound like this is some punishment that was chosen for you. You needed money, right? I pay you for spending the night with me and we call it even.” 

“I’m not a prostitute!” 

“I’m not calling you one.” 

“Paying me for sex might as well be calling me one.” 

Ruby sighed and made her way to the bed. “Okay, then, what do you want?” 

“I-I…” Emerald went quiet for a moment, not entirely sure what exactly it was that she wanted. To be away from here, sure, but being anywhere else didnt seem as appealing either. She took a breath to calm herself, trying to keep her blush down. “I want a night where I dont have to worry about anything. A night where I can be me and… be with someone without expecting any sort of favor out of it.” 

“Then we can have that night together.” 

Emerald felt herself get pushed down to the bed, her blush growing as her cheeks heated up, staring into the silver eyes above her as she felt a hand slip down her thigh. Her lips pressed against Ruby’s, feeling her pants being pulled down and feeling gentle fingers run across her. A small moan escaped her lips as she felt a tinge of pleasure run through her spine. “R-Ruby-” 

“Just relax.” Ruby smiled and kissed Emerald’s neck. “Relax and let yourself enjoy the moment.” 

Emerald nodded as she felt Ruby kiss down her body, stopping at her hips. She moaned once more as she felt Ruby start to press into her and grind against her, giving into her touch and relaxing with her.

Emerald slowly got up and stretched a bit, pausing at the smell of coffee and eggs cooking. She looked around the bedroom and slowly got up, still naked from the night before. The light from the sun passed through the windows, her clothes strewn about with Ruby’s. 

Ruby peeked into the bedroom, smiling at her. “Breakfast will be ready soon.” 

Emerald blushed as she saw Ruby still mostly naked, looking away from her. “O-oh, thanks.” 

“Dont take too long to come out.” 

Emerald nodded and took a deep breath as everything from the night before came back to her. Feeling Ruby’s cock inside of her, the gentleness of her fingers running across her, the tenderness and relaxation she found with the huntress. She slowly picked up her clothes and started to get dressed, taking a moment to bask in the feelings that ran through her. Ruby was meant to be a mark, and yet, hearing someone call her Ruby’s girlfriend, spending a tender night with the huntress, feeling like belonging…. 

Emerald finally got dressed and stepped out of the bedroom. “What’s for breakfast?” 

“Coffee, eggs with ham, and some toast.” Ruby finished plating the eggs, adding a little cheese over. She turned to face Emerald, chest still bare and marked with a few bruises from the night before. “Unless you’re planning to leave before eating.” 

“N-no, I plan to eat, but I…” Emerald sighed and looked away. “Can we… do this again? Maybe not tonight but sometime again-” She paused as she felt Ruby kiss her, interrupting her words. 

Ruby broke the kiss and smiled at her. “I’d like that.”

Okay, since I’m owning the fact I’m Gemstones/Precious Gems trash, can I make a quick argument for it within canon?

Well, it’s my blog and my poor judgement, so this is happening anyway

I’ve been rereading the RWBY manga anthologies after my friend returned them to me (she stole them for like three months but was so happy about it I couldn’t be mad), and there’s a Chapter that sticks with me: “Partner.”

[Quick summary: at an awards ceremony for the events of Volume 2, Ruby is cornered by Mercury. They dance together and he’s handsy and gross about it, then Weiss swoops in your rescue her.]

Why did Mercury, who has no charm and avoids interacting with the main cast in canon, ask Ruby to dance?

However, a RWBY rewatch gave me an idea:

Ruby was crushing on Emerald during team CMEN’s time at Beacon, and spent a fair amount of time around them as a result. Mercury was heteronormative and/or prideful and assumed Ruby was trying to flirt with him.

Merc never caught on that Ruby is an awkward Bisexual who was paying a lot more attention to the cute girl in a halter top than she needed to.

Mercury just thought Ruby was flirting with him and was shy, but she was really a pining gay trying to get close to a pretty girl.

Ruby takes care of a drunk Emerald.

Ruby was currently standing in front of the tavern that she had been informed  her girlfriend was squatting, and as she reached to open the door she was clued in on her girlfriend’s current status. “THE FUCK YOU CAN CUT ME OFF!! I’M A FUCKING PAYING CUSTOMER MOTHERFUCKER!!” She heard shouted from within the bar. “Oh boy.” Ruby said as she entered the bar.

Once inside the bar, Ruby could see that it wasn’t anything special, there was a jukebox in the corner with a couple pool tables in the middle of the establishment. On the left side of the building was the bar which was empty save for the bartender and a drunk dark-skinned women yelling at him. “You here for the drunk?” Ruby nodded at the bartender’s question. “Good, her friend was already picked up, but she refused to leave until her, "Rubles”, arrived.“ The bartender said as he jabbed a thumb towards the drunkard.

Ruby just sighed as she stared at her inebriated girlfriend who was currently face down with an empty pint glass in her hand. Emerald had a bad habit of heading to small taverns with Mercury and being challenged to drinking games when the two "reformed” friends hanged out together. “I’m so sorry about her, we’ll be going now.” Ruby said as she started to peel of the drunk ex-thief off the counter. “GET YOUR FUCKNIG HANDS OFF ME YOU CU…oh hey Rubes. Sit down and have a drink with your ol’ pal Emmy.” Emerald said as she patted the stool next to her. Ruby just sighed, “She’s not going to make this easy is she?”

“WHY DO YOU FUCKING RUIN MY GOOD FUCKING TIME!!!” Emerald shouted as she was dragged though the front door of their house. Ruby continued to drag the drunk across the house, until they arrived at their living room. She then proceeded to plop the drunk onto their couch, since their bedroom was too far and Emerald wasn’t exactly giving her any assistance. “I wish you wouldn’t let Mercury talk you into whatever insane drinking game he comes up with. You aren’t exactly the easiest drunk to deal with.” Ruby said as she stood over the prone drunk.

Emerald just rolled onto her back so that she could better address her girlfriend. “Ruboob, have I ever told you you’re the best fucking thing that has ever happened to me?” Ruby just blankly stared back at her drunk lover. “You say that every time I drag your drunk ass home. Now I’m going to get my drunk kit so stay on your side while I’m gone, and don’t choke on your own vomit while I’m gone.” Ruby said as she turned around and headed toward the kitchen.

“DON’T RUN FROM MY AFFECTION YOU TINY FUCK!!” Emerald shouted at her as she left to the kitchen. Ruby went into the kitchen, and recovered her emergency drunk kit she left in the cupboard. After living with Qrow for so long, she learned to keep a drunk kit on hand at all time. When she return she found that her girlfriend was laying on her back and she had her eyes closed. “No, no, no, no. Bad Emmy.” Ruby said as she started shaking the drowsy drunk, “Fuck oooooof.” Emerald mumbled as she tried to ignore her girlfriend. “Nope, no sleeping for you. I need to make sure you don’t pass out while sleeping. Here drink this.” Rub said as she propped the drunk so that she was sitting up straight, and gave her a bottle of water from her kit.

Emerald begrudgingly drank the water, then handed it the bottle back to her. “Good, now you are onl allowed to lay on your side, and if you tink you’re about to throw up, then aim for this bucket. Also here take this.” Ruby handed her a blanket. “I’ll be staying up with you so feel free to get comfy on my lap.” Ruby said as she finished setting up for a night of caring for the drunk women.

Emerald didn’t respond, she just grabbed the blanket Ruby handed to her, and rested her head on her lap with her head facing away from the women. “If I puke, I’m aiming for your dumb fucking skirt.” Emerald said as she pouted on the couch. “you do that, and you’ll be sleeping in your own vomit, and on the couch for the next 10 weeks.” Ruby warned the drunkard on her lap. Emerald didn’t respond to the threat, she just snuggled into her girlfriends lap. “Are you asleep?” Ruby asked. “Fuck you.” Emerald responded. “Good, I’ll be checking in on you from time to time to make sure you haven’t died in your sleep. In the meantime let’s watch some T.V. until neither of us can stay awake, and I’m sure you won’t die from alcohol poisoning.” Ruby said as she reached for the remote.

“Thanks for being concerned about me.” Emerald mumbled as quietly as she could. Ruby didn’t say anything, she just pet the drunk women’s head. The couple stayed on the couch watching cheesy horror movies together, with Ruby checking every now and again to make sure Emerald was still breathing and hadn’t passed out, until she couldn’t keep her eyes open any more. The two drifted off to sleep together, and luckily Emerald didn’t die in her sleep, but she would wake up the next morning with a killer hangover.
