“I’m that child.”
𝐈𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐀 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐄, he’d merely been studying a mysterious new relic with Loki. They’d been at it for hours --- trying to place the quadrant of reality it had sprung from and what all it’s functions were. They’d gone to take a break, Stephen’s more mortal body requiring more rest than his --- the conversation had shifted away from work and more personal. He’d found an ease --- a camaraderie that he felt lacking in the rest of his solitary life. Was it the loneliness that had motivated his embarrassing display ? His lips had found Loki’s sooner than he could process and just as quickly he had pulled away. Stephen couldn’t even meet his eye, as he tried to regain his composure. “ I’m sorry... I, I don’t know what came over me just now. I must be more tired than I realised. ” // @emeraldcast gets a kiss !

and here the sorcerer supreme had thought he had made himself invisible --- though he should have expected that the trickster god would be able to see through such things. humming quietly to himself he’d straighten to his full height from his all but slumped posture, quirking an eyebrow at his now apparent company. luckily the rooftop of the sanctum was fairly quiet, most of the time.
“ loki --- and here i thought you were dead, or was that cancelled already? ”
@emeraldcast
"He's our brother. I'll admit He's an idiot at times and infuriating but he's still family"
“Like you haven’t tried to kill him before. No Loki can honestly say they haven’t tried to kill Thor and not be lying. I just managed to do it.”
@emeraldcast, from here.
A gentle hand moved to cup his jaw, guiding his gaze back up to meet hers. "Sometimes the trouble with that clever mind of yours, my darling, is that you think of and analyse so many possibilities that it makes it difficult to see the simplest option of all: you should let me help."
Sigyn's thumb ran across his cheek, the gesture one of both affection and reassurance. She did not take the fact that he sought her advice for granted, nor did she doubt that he had been agonising over this predicament - that much was clear enough from the tension in the way he held himself. Between the heavy weight of Odin's expectations and the increasingly fraught relationship between their Realms, a great deal rested upon her trickster's shoulders; lucky for him, then, that he did not have to carry it alone.
"Who better to help you smooth things over with this emissary than a Princess of the very Realm he is here on behalf of? Besides," Her tone becomes a fraction lighter then, though her words were no less serious at their core. "I have a selfishly vested interest in things being at least civil between our people."
@emeraldcast - “Excuse me Man of what isn’t really Iron but it has a better ring to it than the alternative…is there a reason I am being denied entry?” (Sincerely from a projected simulacrum of one very annoyed God of Mischief)
"Gee, I can't imagine why the Avengers would think weaponizing their entire headquarters, where they operate, doing superhero things, against a Robert Smith wannabe Asgardian backup dancer was a good idea, can you?"
"i’m a better person because of you" (charles)
--- @emeraldcast
"And here you are, once again, giving me far too much credit." Because truth be told, Charles was more than certain that he hadn't done anything at all to make Loki a better person. People only changed or 'became better people' if they WANTED to do such a thing. All the encouragement and love in the world couldn't change someone. And he would know. God he would know all too well what trying to change a man would do for a person. Essentially, it was a complete waste of time that left one heartbroken more often than not. He learned the hard way that it was best to let them go and hope something better came along. ( Although he wasn't getting his hopes up either way ).
He grabbed his cup of coffee looking across the table at the other male. He didn't know how long it had been since paths last crossed. He stopped keeping up, having thought they'd never see each other again. They both had their own lives; own duties thrust upon them by the universe and circumstances out of their control. Charles was used to people coming and going. It didn't bother him nearly as much as it used to.
"Anyway, I see you're alive and well. Guess that means you're... surviving and living as you should. That's... always good --- assuming things worked out for you. I don't suppose you'd be here and in good spirits if things were going horribly on your end."
“that was incredible!” (Storm)

She was quick to turn around, the grey that that once covered her irises returning to their true blue. She seemed startled and a bit wary even though she kept a healthy distance between them. She knew who he was, but why he was at the mansion was a mystery best unraveled from afar.
"No offense, but I'd like to think you were rather accustomed to shows of thunder and lightening." Hands were placed upon small hips as she looked him over. He was no Thor, but that didn't make him any less dangerous. Pursing her lips, she found that she couldn't shake the feeling that something was up which meant it was now her job to get to the bottom of it. Lord knows the professor didn't need any more trouble and if she could avert it for him, maybe his mood would improve a bit.
“So why are you here?” she asked after a while. "Come to stir up some trouble? I hear that's all you're good for... God of Mischief."
