Of course it did, but she never met Loki and didn't know better. "I also have a midgardian father. That is where I spent most of my time so far. Earth... Midgard. So I'm not really aware of what's happening to Asgard right now."

Sigyn listened, fighting a small smile at her assessment of Loki - such a common one that there was little sense in being affronted on his behalf. In some cases, he'd cultivated such a reputation intentionally.

Mantis knows it's true: Sigyn's pregnancy is a newfound source of happiness for the goddess.

It is also a major change, and a bittersweet thing.

Sigyn has never once let other people face a challenge alone, always standing by their side and providing a kind word, a gentle smile, unconditional support. Whatever Sigyn needs, wherever either of them are, Mantis will be there for her in a heartbeat.

Gentle hands move to rest upon the other's shoulders, and Mantis' expression is all emotion, all sincerity, all tenderness.

"You are going to be a wonderful mother, Sigyn. Truly." She means it, despite the catch in her voice. The goddess is pulled into a comforting embrace. "And I will be – I am here for you, whether you need me or not. Do you understand?"

Sigyn has always found it so easy to look after others, to offer them whatever they need - even if that's just her presence. So she knows how valuable it is, to have found someone who so willingly offers her the same. Mantis' friendship is especially poignant now, when her sisters are so far away. When the one person she should be sharing these moments with is gone.

She returns the embrace with a tearful laugh, hugging her close.

"What in all the Realms did I do to deserve you?" She asks, pulling back enough so that she can see the determined expression on the other's face. "Of course I need you. Do you think I don't know how lucky I am to have you? Or how lucky my children will be, to have an aunt like you?"
