i know there's already been conversations about this comic panel from trail of shadows because it introduces some confusing timelines for the firebrands' ages if that's really stellan in the second bed, but my question right now is where is this supposed to be taking place? because there are definitely mountains through that window in the background, not coruscant skyscrapers. did emerick and stellan live at a jedi temple not on coruscant when they were tiny?

another note on the trail of shadows mini-series that i wanted to make a separate post about, is that i'm lowkey rejecting what emerick said about him and stellan first hearing the lullaby 35 years ago lol.

like during the flashback moment of them hearing it while in the creche, the art looked like they were maybe max 7 years old at the time?? which would put emerick and stellan over 40 years old.

emerick i can absolutely believe is early 40s. even stellan, i don't think it's unbelievable for him to be 40-42ish years old. but stellan, avar, and elzar were all padawans together, they all grew up together, and i just don't think there's any way avar and elzar are in their 40s. i think it's plausible that stellan is older than avar and elzar by a couple years, but he can't be more than MAX five years older than them.

i always got the vibe that around LOTJ, avar and elzar were about 30-32ish. like they're older than the padawans we meet in the YA books, and they're old enough that those young adult characters look up to the firebrands. but the firebrands definitely still feel like they're on the younger side themselves; they don't have ALL their shit together, they still have learning to do themselves.

additionally, i think stellan being the youngest jedi master on the council in a long time is a bit more impactful if he's mid-30s (maybe upper-mid 30s). because he is still young! which makes it more impressive, and makes a bit more sense to me with stellan (a prodigy) being vernestra's master (another prodigy). it also makes his death more tragic if he died and haven't even broke 40 yet.

like him, avar, and elzar have all this responsibility on their shoulders (stellan and avar especially); they've been through so much since the legacy run disaster, but they're still so young. i just think it fits.

so anyway: i think stellan is mid-30s, and avar and elzar are a couple years younger in their early 30s. i think the trail of shadows comic just threw a number out there that doesn't really fit, so i'm electing to ignore it lol
