A little context for this one, Mimira can't bear to let Emet go when she strikes the final blow. She releases all the aether she can without dying, a not insignificant amount due to her being blessed by the Elementals, and ties Emet's soul to her own. She doesn't realize that's what she's done, though Emet does. This ties their life force to each other; effectively, from this point as long as one lives, the other can't be killed, and vice versa. Their souls have to be parted in order to get through this protection. However, for some time after it's done it makes them both very ill, Emet because it's draining him of his own aether (it's trying to equal out their levels, so to speak) and Mimira because it's giving her a huge dose of very singularly aspected aether (the blessing protects her aether from corrupting but while it balances it makes her feel very unwell).
