Emil from NieR here, I'm so very excited about the remake!!!! I can't wait to see old friends again and meet new ones!!!!!! it looks so wonderful so far, I just know it's going to be as close to perfect as you can get with a game!!!! Canon pronouns are very funny to me because I did pretty much use he/they/it for all of them (minus edgar who was just he/him as well as Aesop who was the same but I'm not sure if I actually kin him) but "it" had a ton of different reasons. Usually some level of feeling non human in some way.

Luca (both normal and paranormal detective) was because of feeling like some kind of machine, although as Para i was like an ai running the body and as normal Luca I was just a full on automaton kind of thing

Emil and Victor both had "it" kind of pushed on them from others, but while as Emil I embraced it as Victor it served more as internal dehumanisation??? Wasn't great

Ithaqua got called something inhuman and liked it djbajejajs It was neat!!!
