emoleechen: a very special trip back to #maybehappyending last night with a group of fellow adoptees and friends! we got to see @ danielmayofficial as james & others and @ hannah.kevitt in her first week as claire! thanks to @ jscribs we were able to have a private talkback after the show with daniel & hannah, to share what the shows means to them as asian adoptees. (plus a bonus surprise when dez duron and darren criss joined us!) 🎭🫰🏻🤖💜✨

a truly meaningful experience for #round14 of this show that's so near & dear to my korean adoptee heart! after being one of the very few asians in school, it feels so wonderful to find a community of adoptees to share & grow in our experiences with!

i have one talent and it's overthinking so here is my overthought thought, this is a screencap of ep.34 right before ah-xiang's marriage with cao-weining, when wen kexing is tying the red string of fate around ah-xiang's wrist when the screen turns to luo fumeng, the tragicomic ghost and then to liu qianqiao, the beauty ghost. both the seniors are looking longingly at ah-xiang and her wrist because, she is getting the chance to marry and be with her love unlike the two of them, who were both betrayed by their lovers. qianqiao's lover yu qiu feng had to leave her bc she was his extra-marital affair and bc his wife tortured qianqiao and that coward instead of fighting for his love put his tail between his legs and ran after his wife. and luo fu meng, the tragicomic ghost was betrayed the most horrendous way by her lover zhao jing (the master villain of shan he ling) he burnt down her whole clan on their marriage day simply bc he wanted to marry a wealthier woman (what a dick). so idk about y'all but i can see longing and pain in their eyes even though they're smiling.

and before anyone says that liu qianqiao/beauty ghost drank the water of lethe after returning from her second mission, we actually don't know whether she drank it or not because she was killed before she answered to yu qiu feng when he asked her about it and simply because she stabbed him doesn't mean she did drink it okay.
